Thursday, June 17, 2010 Mike Randle (6’0 g), Ryan McCoy (6’1 g Louisiana-Lafayette) Workout Analysis: McCoy is getting for ready for a professional career. He still has the quickness and smarts to play at high level professionally.
Wednesday, June 16, 2010 Jay Cousinard (6’6 g UMKC jr.), Xavier Roberson (6’1 g TCU fresh), Aaron Turner (6’8 f ), Eric Moreland (6’10 f Oregon State), Jason Carter (6’8 f Alabama), Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2012), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g), Mike Randle Workout Analysis: The duo of Aaron Turner and Devon Turk won the 2 on 2 full court and half court. Urk was knocking down threes in the half court and full court games from all over the floor. Where he will solidify himself as an upper D1 level prospect is when he starts using his shooting prowess as a decoy to get to the rim off the dribble. Roberson was the best player in the workout using screens. He has a good feel for the game and knows how to use change of pace and read screens. Cousinard was probably the best player in the gym today. With his size, strength, and athleticism he was the hardest matchup. Moreland has the most potential out of anyone in this group with his wingspan and versatility. He will have to develop and consistent jump shot and gain strength. Carter will fight for playing time at Alabama as a freshman because he fit’s the SEC style of play: rugged, hard nosed, and tough. Joseph Munoz (6’3 g Clear Creek HS 2012), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g 2011), Dante Bachus (6’7 f 2011) We worked on off the dribble moves combo moves, pull-up jumpers going left and right, “Baron Davis” pull-back jumper, yank back jumper, finishing at the rim through contact, and 1 on 1 closeouts. Workout Analysis: Ibrahim dominated the 1 on 1 competition. Bachus has a really nice touch from 18 feet in. Once he develops a natural face up game, he will elevate his stock to a mid major plaus type of talent. Munoz has a smooth lefty stroke and will also elevate his stock as he continues to improve his dribble drive game.
Tuesday, June 15, 2010 Joseph Munoz (6’3 g Clear Creek HS 2012), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g 2011), Dante Bachus (6’7 f 2011) Monday, June 7, 2010
Derrick Martin (6'1 g Atlanta 2013), Mike Randle (6'0 g), Devon Turk (6'4 g North Shore HS 2012)
Sunday, June, 6, 2010 Eric Moreland (6'10 f Oregon State fresh) Sheldon McClellan (6'6 g Bellaire Hs 2011), Tommy Mason-Griffin (5'10 g NBA), Jason Carter (6'8 f Alabama fresh), Jonathon Jordan (5'10 g Hightower HS), Ahmad Ibrahim (6'6 g 2011), Mike Randle (6'0 g), William Young (5'10 g Arizona State) Thursday, June 3, 2010 Eric Moreland (6'10 f Oregon State fresh), Ahmad Ibrahim (6'6g 2011), Mike Randle (6'0 g)

Monday,, May 31, 2010
Tommy Mason Griffin (NBA), Eric Moreland (6'10 f Oregon State fresh), Devon Turk (6'4 g North Shore HS 2012), Michael Randle (6'0 g)
We worked on the jab step pull-up, crossover pull-up, step back jumper, double cross jumper, floater (left and right hand), runner in the paint, transition 3 point pull-up jumper, cross step pull-up, jab right cross left jumper, tight space ball handling and wing isolation 1 on 1 with 2 dribbles to create a shot. Workout Analysis: Moreland made life difficult for everybody in the workout with his length and wingspan. He was able to shoot over the top of all the defenders and challenge shots on the defensive end. Turk got hot one game and reeled off 7 straight baskets. He will be a D1 player if he can maintain that type of consistency. He looks like he has grown an inch (6’4) and is getting more explosive. Mason-Griffin is fresh off a workout with the Houston Rockets. He has the innate ability to create space for his jump shot, which will serve him well on the next level. Randle has done an excellent job lately of knocking down tough step backs and runners. If he gets stronger it further the development of his game.

Tommy Mason Griffin (NBA), Maurice Wiltz (6’1 g Colorado St FR), Jamel Outler (6’3 g Texas Tech FR), Joseph Young (6’1 g Providence FR), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g Mountain State Academy 2011), Xavier Roberson (6’1 g TCU soph.), William Abdul-Malak (6’0 g 2011), Thomas Holmes (6’6 f professional) We worked on the sweeping floater with the left and right hand, reverse layup, 1 and 2 dribble pull-u[, transition 3 pointers, crossover pull-up, runners, double cross pull-up, pull back jumper, jab step jumper, jab step-up fake jumper, and catch and shoot. Workout Analysis: Griffin is coming back from a very good showing at the NBA workouts in Minnesota. He has workouts lined up with several other NBA teams. Xavier Roberson is fresh off a productive freshman campaign at TCU. In workouts today he showed a nice pace and craftiness to his game. He was also able to get to that mid-range jumper and knock it down. Roberson will be facing Maurice Wiltz in the Mountain West Conference next year. Wiltz showed the ability to create space for his jumper today and he also showed his first step and explosiveness in getting to the rim.
Thursday, May 20, 2010
Eric Moreland (6'9 fr Oregon State)
We worked on form shooting, elbow and curl jumpers, fade jumpers, pick and pop jumpers, conditoning and upper body work with the resistance bands.
Workout Analysis: Moreland has the potential to play at a very high level. He has to get stronger and develop some consistency on his jump shot. He has a high level IQ and can really handle and pass the ball for a big. Once he develops some strength he will be a really successful player in the PAC 10 and beyond.
Tuesday, May 18, 2010
Michael Randle (6'0 pg), Tommy Mason-Griffin (Pro), Monice Garrett (Pro), Jason Carter (6'8 fr Alabama),

Jamel Outler (6'3 g fr Texas Tech), Maurice Wiltz (6'1 g fr Colorado State)
Still reeling from the loss of teammate Oyedeji, Outler came in with a new outlook on workouts. Take nothing for granted, life is too short. Both guys went full tilt in every drill. We worked on exploding to the rim off 1 dribble, mid range pull-up, pick and roll jumper, catch and shoot from different angles, jab step and sweep through jumper and full court conditioning. VIDEO COMING SOON!
Saturday, May 15, 2010
Raymond Penn (5’9 g Oklahoma State Freshman), Tommy Mason-Griffin (Pro)
VIDEO COMING SOON!
Thursday, May 13, 2010
Raymond Penn (5’9 g Oklahoma State Freshman), Khris Roy (5’10 g HBU Freshman) We worked on conditioning with ab/core work, explosive bands full court and jump rope, and NBA shooting from 7 different spots on the floor. Workout Analysis: Penn is adjusting to his new strength and is finding the stroke on the jumper. Once he got loose the 3 ball started falling. Roy is in the midst of transferring. He will be a great find for a JUCO looking for a combo guard who can fill it up. Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Maurice Wiltz (6’1 g Stafford HS 2010) We worked on the floater with the left and right hand, jab pull-up jumper, 2 dribble pull-up and catch and shoot 4 in a row from 7 spots. In between drills we did conditioning drills (mountain climbers, quick feet, jump rope, etc.) Workout Analysis: Wiltz (Colorado State) and Outler (Texas Tech) are both combo guards who are athletic and can get in the paint and score. They will both have to use their athleticism to get to the in between spots on the floor to score on the Major D1 level.

Tommy Mason Griffin (Pro), Monice Garrett (Pro), Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Maurice Wiltz (6'1 g Staffoord HS 2010), Jared Woods (6'4 g FB Baptist 2010), William Abdul-Malak (6'0 g 2011),Luke Savoy (6'0 g Lamar Consolidated 2012)
Monday, May 10, 2010
Raymond Penn (5’9 g Oklahoma State Freshman) We did NBA shooting drill where he had to make 5 in a row twice from 7 different spots behind the arc, transisition pull-up jumpers, fade and elbow jumpers, 1 dribble pull-ups, and athletic finishes at the rim. Workout Analysis: Penn has bulked up after a year in the Big 12 and is poised to have a breakout sophomore campaign. His conditioning was a bit off after a lifting weights with no court action for 3 weeks, but once he got his wind his jumper was falling. Alex Lap (5’8 g Kempner HS 2013) We worked on footwork and defensive slides with the 2 ball tap and closeouts at different angles on the court, attacking the defense with an in and out dribble--let the D relax--then explode to the basket; then we did the same thing exploding to the middle finishing with the floater, we worked on the crossover pull-up, reacting to the defense and finishing at the rim, and pushing the rock in transition then making a move in the scoring zone. Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Maurice Wiltz (6’1 g Stafford HS 2010), Devon Turk (6’3 g North Shore HS 2012), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Justin Carter (6’8 f Lamar University) We worked on pull-jumper, elbow and fade jumper, beating the 1st defender and finishing over the help side, jab step jumper, jab step-up fake, catch and shoot, and 2 dribble hesitation.
Saturday, May 8, 2010
Keith Thomas (5'10 Village School 2013)
Jason Carter ( 6'8 f Christian Life 2010)
Friday, May 7, 2010
Alex Lap (5’8 g Kempner 2013) We worked on pull-up jumpers, jab step jumpers, 2 dribble jumpers, combo move jumpers, and catch and shoot jumpers.
Mike Randle, Maurice Wiltz (6’1 g Colorado St 2010), Jared Woods (6’4 g Ft. Bend Baptist), Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS), Dylan Pack (6’0 g Village School 2012)
We worked on full court conditioning, defensive slides, squat jumps, quick jumps, arm extensions, full court ball handling with the pull-up jumper, explosive 2 dribble pull-up and crossover pull-up, and spot shooting with a sprint, backpedal, and defensive slide.
Workout Analysis: Wiltz is working his way back into form after having minor surgery. Everything we did was conditioning because these guys have to get ready for the college level. Woods is an unsigned senior, and is still available for any school like for a versatile wing.
Tuesday, May 4, 2010
Brandon Peters (6’0 g Yates HS 2010), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life HS 2010) We started with conditioning with the resistance bands. We also worked on change of direction ball handling with 2 balls, 1 hand, between the legs and behind the back, pull-up jumper, elbow jumpers, finishing at the rim through contact jab step-shot fake-shot, 2 dribble pull-up from the corners, 1 dribble pull-up from the wings and close out 1 on 1 . Workout Analysis: Peters is getting ready to head to Western Kentucky and Carter is headed to Alabama. Peters can be an impact freshman if he shows the ability to consistently knock down the jumper because he will he be one of the most explosive and athletic players in college basketball next year. He showed glimpses of his potential today with a couple of explosive moves off the dribble in the 1 on 1 games. Carter also showed his ability as he knocked down the jumper of the jab and off the dribble. At his size he will be able to get that shot off anytime he wants.
Monday, May 3, 2010
William Abdul Maluk (6’0 pg Mountain State Academy 2011), Omar Said (7’2 c) Omar worked on big man moves and being athletic in the paint. We worked on tip dunks, jump hooks to the left and right shoulder, up and under, fake baseline spin middle, and pick and roll/ pick and pop. I worked with Maluk on creating space, combo moves and pull-up jumpers. Workout Analysis: Omar has really good feet and hands and a really good touch for a big. He will be an impact player on the D1 level. Keith “Tiny” Gallon (Pro), Tommy Mason Griffin (Pro), Michael Randle Gallon and Griffin have to get in extreme shape getting ready for these NBA workouts. If they come into camp in excellent condition they can really improve their stock. We worked on exploding at the rim, finishing through contact, coming off the elbow for the curl jumper, footwork and conditioning drills, spot shooting, and explosive drills. There was no break in between drills. Abs, and jump rope were done between drills. Workout Analysis: Randle is looking to transfer schools after having a good freshman at USAO. Griffin and Gallon are chasing their NBA dreams. They have a lot of doubters and naysayer’s, but if they continue to put in work they are talented enough to play on the highest level. Devon Turk (6’3 g North Shore HS 2012), Tobi Oyedeji (6’8 f Bellaire HS 2010), Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Jason Carter (6’8 g Christian Life HS 2010) We worked on explosiveness with the box jumps, lateral jumps, defensive slides on the box, and mountain climbers. We also worked on the pull-up jumper, finishing at the rim through contact, avoiding the charge, elbow jumper, catch and shoot and off the dribble into a defensive slide, backpedal, or sprint and 2 on 2 full court. Workout Analysis: Oyedeji has bulked up to 220 lbs and is noticeably bigger. He will need the added strength to compete in the Big 12. He battled with Carter and they both are trying to expand their game. Carter is a better 3 point threat while Oyedeji has better footwork around the basket. Turk is a good scorer who can shoot the ball with range. Like most scorers he must the learn the difference between a good shot and bad shot, but that will come with time and experience. Outler plays well in space where he is able to use his length and athleticism to get to his spots for the pull up jumper.
Sunday, May 2, 2010
Anthony Odunsi (6'4 g Travis HS 2011), Jason Carter (6'8 f Christian Life 2010), Dylan Pack (6'0 g Village School 2012)
We worked on change of direction dribble, defensive closeouts, backpedals and defensive slides, finishing at the rim, making a reactive move off the reverse pivot for the finish at the rim and the pull-up jumper, and the tight space crossover. In between drills we did conditioning ( squats, jump rope, mountain climbers). Workout Analysis: Carter is working hard getting ready to make the jump to Alabama. Odunsi is in the process of elevating his stock and showing people he can be a full-time point guard. Pack is a rising junior who can shoot. He must work on his off the dribble moves and explosiveness to raise his game to another level.
Saturday, May 1, 2010
Keith “Tiny” Gallon (Pro), Jason Carter (6'8 f Christian Life 2010) We worked on the pick and pop, pick and roll, high post reverse pivot, mid range catch and shoot, footwork and explosive drills, and full court conditioning with shooting. Workout Analysis: Gallon is preparing for the NBA draft. He displayed nice footwork and a good set of hands. He used his strength to over power Carter in the post. He also possesses big time athleticism for a player his size. Carter displayed a nice shooting touch, and used his quickness advantage on the perimeter to create space for his jump shot on Gallon. He got a taste of what life will be like in the SEC next year as he is headed to Alabama. Keith Thomas (5'8 g Village School 2013) We worked on shooting, where you had to really concetrate on each shot. You had to make 3 in a row 3 times before moving on to the next spot. We shot from 7 different spots on the floor includin bankl shots. This drill is ment to build consisent shooters. There is a consequence for every miss. We also worked on off the dribble omves for the pull-up jumper ( Tim Hardaway crossover, step back, jab step, up fake 1 dribble, and catch and shoot).
Friday, April 30, 2010
Alex Lap (5'8 g Kempner HS 2013)
We prepared for the Nike Skills Camp so we worked on straight shooting drills off the dribble and catch and shoot.
Thursday, April 29, 2010
Tommy Mason Griffin (Pro)
Wednesday, April 28, 2010
Omar Saaid (7'2 c), Keith "Tiny" Gallon (6'9 f Oklahoma)
The two big men got in the gym and worked hard today. We worked on showing hard on the pick and roll keeping the point guard out the lane, pick and pop jumpers, pick and roll finish at the rim, pick and pop jab step jumper on both sides of the floor, fake middle baseline fade away, fake baseline jump hook middle with the left and right hand, explosive rim touches and alley-oops above the rim with 2 feet, and 1 on 1 from both block and flashing to the high post. Workout Analysis: Gallon is preparing for the NBA Draft. He is a really good athlete for a big man and has extended range. He will have to show NBA GM’s that he is top shape. Omar is still developing and held his own against Gallon. He displayed a nice touch around the basket and can get to his jump hook at anytime. He will have to get stronger, but both guys should be pro’s.
Tuesday, April 27, 2010
Tommy Mason Griffin (Pro), Henry Uhwegu (Overseas)
Griffin is getting in better shape as he prepares for the NBA draft. Everything we do is full court and high intensity with no rest in between. We worked on reverse pivot finishing at the rim then with the pull-up jumper, screen and roll with the 2 dribble pull-up, screen and roll --refuse the screen for the pull-up, full court change of direction pull-up, and 1 on1 full court.
Omar Saiid (7'2 center); Willam Abdul-Malak

Friday, April 23, 2010
William Abdul-Malak ( 6'0 g Mountain State Academy 2011), Keith Thomas (5'10 g Village School 2013)
Thursday, April 22, 2010
Tommy Mason- Griffin (Pro) Everything we worked on was conditioning with the ball in his hands. We did full court layups where he had to stretch out after the 3 rd dribble and finish at the rim, star shooting off the dribble and with the pull-up jumper, full court defense transitioning to offense and scoring, baseline to baseline shooting, and 3 point spot shooting where he had to make 5 in a row twice from each spot. Workout Analysis: Mason-Griffin is preparing for the NBA Draft and it is quickly approaching. I believe he has the ball skills, shooting ability, and IQ to play at the highest level. The only thing is getting his body prepared for the rigors of a 82 NBA game schedule and the grueling workout schedule he will be facing when he starts working out with NBA teams. Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Kevin Williams (6’0 g Pearland HS 2010), Kene Anyigbo (6’5 f Bellaire HS 2010), Laurynce Andrus (6’2 g Pershing MS 2015), Jesse Anyigbo (St. Thomas MS pg 2016), Andre Lap (pg 2017) We worked on ball handling and counter moves with the double crossover, double behind the back, scissors, behind the back crossover, crossover between the legs, pull back in and out dribble. Outler, Williams, and Anyigbo worked on “perfect shooting” on the “inner rim” which is a smaller rim placed inside of the rim. They had to make 3 in a row twice from each spot. Andrus, Jessie, and Lap worked on creating space off the reverse pivot with the jab step 2 dribble pull-up, sweep through, jab crossover, and jab double crossover.
Wednesday, April 21, 2010
Alex Lap (5'8 g Kempner HS 2013) We worked on two ball dribble, change of direction, defensive closeouts, double crossover, fake crossover, euro step, hop step, exploding at the basket, hesitation crossover, 2 dribble pull-up off the reverse pivot, and trhe floater. Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS), Odera Nweke (6’4 g Terry HS 2011), William Abdul-Malak (6’0 g Mountain State Academy), Jonathon Jordan (5’10 g Hightower HS 2011), Christian Crockett (6’5 f Travis HS 2012), Devon Turk (6’3 g North Shore HS 2012), Tobi Oyedji (6’8 f Bellaire HS 2010), Kene Anyigbo (6’5 f Bellaire HS 2010), Omar (7’2 c 2010), Matt Simpson (6’5 g Klein Collins 2012) We worked on various ball handling moves (crossover, pull back, between the legs, behind the back, in and out crossover, etc) and full court shooting 9 catch and shoot, jab step-shot, and 1 dribble pull-up from 3 point and mid range. We then played 2 on 2 half and full court with a 6 second shot clock. Workout Analysis: Turk hit a couple of really tough shots with a hand in his face. He can become a top scorer if he continues to develop his drive game. Nweke showed a good ability to use his craftiness to create scoring opportunities. Simpson is a knock down shooter who can get his shot off. He will have to learn how to break people down off the dribble to raise his game to the next level. Omar created a problem for guys today in the workouts. He was blocking shots on anyone who challenged him and he was consistently knocking down jumpers in the shooting drills. Outler was using his athleticism to create space and make plays. Oyedeji showed good footwork with a couple of nice counter moves in the post.

Alex Lap (5'8 g Kempner HS 2013)
We worked on counternoves off the dribble including the crossover, 1-2 cross, behind the back wrap, 1 leg runner, step back, attacking the basket, finishing with the opposite hand on the opposite side of the rim, stopping on a dime change of direction dribble, and tennis ball handling drills.
Workout Analysis: Lap is a hard worker and is looking to get better every day.
Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Ahmad Ibrahim (6'6 g Mountain State Academy 2011), Christian Crockett (6'5 f Travis HS 2012), Omar (7'2 c)
We worked on full court ballhandling and the fast break pull-up jumper, pick and roll situations with the 2 dribble pull-up, hitting the big for the fare or the roll down to the basket, chair explosions from the block and the elbow, passing to the post and relocating for the jumper, and 2 on 2 full court.
Workout Analysis: Big Omar was exploding off the block and finishing hard. He also did a good job of sprinting the floor in the 2 on 2 drills. At 7'2 he can play this game for a long time if he can continue to work. Crockett must continue to work on his ballhandling skills to make the full transition to the perimeter. he has the size and athletic ability to do so. Outler unorthadox style gives him the ability to make tough shots. He must continue to work on the ballhandling in order to handle the rigorous guard play in the Big 12 next year.
Tuesday, April 13, 2010
Ahmad Ibrahim (6'6g Mountain State Academy 2011)
We worked on the left and right hand floater, jab left and jab right pull-up, 2 dribble pull-up from both wings, fastbreak pull-up, crossover pull-up, reverse layup with both hands, and catch and shoot 3's from all spots.
Workout Analysis: Ibrahim is a top 75 talent in the 2011 class. He has the size and ballhandling ability to play the pg, sg, and wing spots. He cam also stroke the ball. I want to continue to improve his athleticism and conditioning. He shot over 70% in all the shooting drills today.
Monday, April 12, 2010
Alex Lap (5'8 g Kempner HS 2013)
We worked on tennis ball handling with the crossover, double crossover, behind the back crossover, crossover pull-up, behind the back pull-up, Iverson reverse layup, star shooting, and the fast break elbow jumper.
Workout Analysis: Lap has a really good midrange game. Working on making her a really explosive player. She has a good feel for the game and a good handle. I also want to condition her to perform at a high level when she is tired.
Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Ahmad Ibrahim
Sunday, April 11, 2010
Chri Idi (5'7 pg Sartatia MS 2014), Wael Abdul-Malak (6'0 g Mounatin State Academy 2011)
Saturday, April 10, 2010
Maurice Wiltz (6'1 g Stafford HS 2010), Jared Woods (6'4 g Fort Bend Baptist 2010)
We worked on the leaner off the glass, floater with the left and right hand, pull-up jumper, pull-up off the glass, full court ball handling, star shooting with the layup, catch and shoot jumper, and countermoves off the dribble.
Workout Analysis: Wiltz is rounding back into shape after having minor surgery. If he works hard this spring and summer he could be an instant impact player at Colorado State next year. Woods is an unisgned senior. He will be a good pickup for a small school looking for a good swingman who can knock down the midrange jumper.

Alex Lap (5'8 g Kempner HS 2013)
Workout Analysis: Lap made 1st team All-District this season as freshman and was the newcomer of the year for girls in the extra tough Fort Bend District. She has a really good stroke off the dribble and can catch and shoot from the mid range area, which is a lost art in today’s game. She did a good job of handling the ball and making counter moves as well. I want to continue to work with her on exploding off the dribble and extending her range to deep beyond the 3 point line. She has the look of a D1 player and it looks like she is going to hit a growth spurt. She is definitely a player to watch in Houston over the next couple of years.
Ahmad Ibrahim (6'6 g Mountain State Prep 2011), Kevin Williams (5'10 g Pearland 2010), Jonathon Jordan (5'10 Hightower 2011), Christian Crockett (6'5 f Travis HS 2012), Deuce Gatlin (5'10 g Hightower HS 2011), Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Omar (7'2 center), Z (Maine Central Institute 2010)
Workout Analysis: Big Omar will be a pro if he continues to develop. You cant teach height and the guy is already 7'2! He has good hands, a good feel around the basket, and will only get better with time. I had him practicing on the 11ft basket attacking the basket. over the left and right shoulder jump hooks, and 2 hand dunks. Kevin Williams looked good in the 1 on 1 drills today. He looked quick off the dribble and was using his strength on defense to kncock people off the dribble and on offense to bully his way to the hole. Outler was looking very comfortable pulling up off the dribble. He was using his athleticiscm to get to spots on the floor and rise up. Jonathon Jordan can get to the rim on anybody but he must knock down the midrange jumper in order to keep the defense honest. Crockett used his size and strength to get to the rim, but must remain more consistent in his effort to stay aggressive in attacking the rim.
Tuesday, April 6, 2010
William Maluk (6'1 g Mountain State Prep 2011), Arsalan Kazemi (6'6 f Rice University Fr), Ahmad Ibrahim (6'6 g Mountain State Prep 2011)
Workout Analysis: Kazemi had a really good freshman year at Rice University. He set the record for most double-doubles as a freshman. Im working with him on transitioning from a 4man to a versatile 3man. He has pro level athleticiscism and a nice touch from the perimeter. Also conncetrating on him making plays off the dribble. I want him to have a really big brekaout season next year at Rice. Ibrahim has the potential to be one of the top 50 players in the country if he can keep his motor running and remain consistent. He came in the gym ready to work and was focused today. He was exploding on every move and handling the ball which makes him very dangerous as a big pont guard. Maluk is a very hard worker who has improved his quickness, ballhandling, and foot speed. He has a nice stroke out to the 3 point line, but must get more explosive.
Monday, April 5, 2010
William Maluk ( 6'1 g Mountain State Prep 2011), Tre Bennett (5'10 g Milby HS 2011), Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Ahmad Ibrahim (6'6 g Mountain State Prep 2011)
Workout Analysis: Bennett is one of the best scorers in the area. He can get to anywhere he wants on the floor off the dribble to get a basket. For him to raise his stock at the next level he will have to show he can run a team and make other players better. He will have the oppurtunity to show college coaches this aspect of his game this summer with Houston Select and next year at Yates HS.

Tommy Griffin
We worked on all full court conditioning drills with the ball. We did 2 ball change of direction, 2 ball explosion, 1 ball 1 hand change of direction full court, full court change of direction pull-up jumper, full court change of direction pull-up 3 pointer, full court change of direction layup, and 5 minute shooting (moving around the arc from 3 point range).
Tobi Oyedeji (6‘8 Bellaire Hs 2010),Christian Crockett (6’5 f Travis HS 2012) \ Teris Bourgeois(6‘5 g clear springs) We worked on quick dribble drive moves, change of direction moves in the open court, avoiding the charge and exploding at the rim, cross step-sweep through jumper, up fake-rip through jumper, baseline to baseline 2 dribble pull-up, reverese pivot sweep through and finish at the rim, and full court shooting. Workout Analysis: Teris has a really long wingspan and can stroke the ball when he is on balance. He will really become a solid D1 player when he tightens up the handle. Oyedeji will have a battle for playing time at Texas A&M next year as a freshman. Being able to handle the ball and make plays from the perimeter will make him more valuable, which is something the other bigs wont be able to do.
Anthony Norris (6'7 Sam Houston HS 2011) Joseph Munoz ( 6'3 g Cy Creek 2012), Laurynce Andrus (6'2 g Pershing MS 2015)
Workout Analysis: Norris became the second player to ever hit all 25 points in the “17” drill. Its that type of potential that scouts rave about when they see Norris. He has the size, length, and athletic ability to play at the highest level. Ball handling, defending quicker guards, and breaking people down off the dribble is what he has to continue to work on. Munoz can stroke the ball and looks like he is due to add a few inches to his 6’3 frame. Really concentrating with him on making explosive moves off the dribble and getting to a spot for the pull-up. Laurynce is going to be a big time player if he continues to develop. He is physically mature for a 7th grader and is very athletic. This time next year he should be throwing it down above the rim easily. I’m really going to work on him keeping his balance when he goes up for a jumper. He has the tendency to fade back which throws his rhythm off. It will be fun to watch his development over the next couple of years.

Tommy Mason Griffin We worked on tennis ball reaction drills with the double crossover, between the legs behind the back, sprint dribble, and explosive step, reverse pivot explosion to the rim going left and right, full court change of direction, full court defense, making a read off the dribble, popping out for the catch and shoot, pull up three pointers and catch and shoot NBA range three pointers (60 makes). Workout Analysis: Griffin is getting in better shape as the draft nears. His conditioning will be the key factor in determining his pro future. He has the ability to shoot the ball with range, even when he is fatigued and tired. Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS 2010) We worked on the 2 dribble pull from spots all over the floor, fast break three point pull-up, fast break midrange pull-up, explosion finishing on the reverse side of the rim, popping out to the corner catch and shoot, jab step pull-up, sweep through pull-up, exploding through contact at the rim, full court shooting, and tennis ball dribble drills. Workout Analysis: Outler has the ability to get to different spots on the floor and raise up. His jumper looked good today. Getting an advanced dribbled drive game will be key for him next year at Texas Tech. Christian Crocket (6’5 f Travis HS 2012) We worked on quick handles (crossover, between the legs, behind the back crossover, etc.), exploding to the rim off the dribble, 2 pull-up dribble from the wings and corners, finishing through contact, making a quick move and a combination move for the pull-up, reverse pivot-sweep through for the pull-up and finishing at the rim, catching it off guard penetration and finishing at the opposite side of the rim. Workout Analysis: Crockett has the size and strength to get the rim and finish in traffic. He body and athleticism also make him a good rebounded from the wing. He has to continue to work on his ball handling and range on the jumper to become a full time perimeter player. This will be a big summer for Crockett as far as gaining exposure.
Friday, March 26, 2010
Anthony Odunsi (6’4 pg Travis HS 2011)
We worked on point guard vision drills seeing the floor and reading the D--making the correct pass with the left and right hand, exploding past D and finishing with the left and right hand floater, 2 dribble pull-up, cross step sweep through, and catch and shoot.
Workout Analysis: Odunsi is primed for a big summer. His AAU team (Houston Select) has yet to play a game this spring but he should open some eyes with ability to handle the ball and make plays. He is a no nonsense kid that is all business when he steps in the gym.

Tommy Mason- Griffin (FR pg Oklahoma) Day 3 of the workouts for Griffin. He is gradually getting in better shape. We worked out in 12 minute quarters (NBA length). Once again everything was full court and conditioning with the ball in his hand. At the end of each quarter he had to score twice within a 35 second time frame (simulating a 2 for 1 situation) at the end of a quarter. The 3 rd and 4th quarter were the hardest as I want him to get stronger as the game goes on. The 3rd qtr was all explosive stuff getting to the rim and the 4th qtr was all defense playing the man to certain angles and getting stops. While all odds are against Griffin I believe he will have a successful pro career if he continues to put in the type of work that he doing.

Tuesday, March 23, 2010
Tommy Mason Griffin (5’10 pg FR. Oklahoma)
Day 2 of the workouts getting ready for ball at the highest level. We started with 2 ball dribbles exploding through resistance, dribbling 1 high and 1 low, and alternating dribbles. We then went 2 ball dribble full court change of direction both ways. We then went full court change of direction with 1 hand both ways, then full court change of direction with both hands. After the full court change of direction we worked on picking up the ball on defense full court---getting a stop---then scoring the basket in transition. We then worked on guarding the ball on different pick and roll situations and fighting over the top of the screen. This is all he is going to face at the next level is pick and roll action. We then worked on denying the ball on the wing then transitioning from offense to defense and scoring off the pull-up. We then went out of bounds to elbow pull-up jumpers, three point wing to wing shots, full court 5 spot shooting, and “17” where he had to score a minimum of 17 points from 4 designated spots on the floor. Everything we did is full court and conditioning to get his body ready for the physical grind of playing with grown men everyday.
Anthony Norris (6’7 g Sam Houston 2011)
We worked on ball handling in tight spaces, change of direction, Hardaway crossover pull-up, 1 and 2 dribble pull-up, avoiding the charge and scoring, exploding to the basket from different spots on the floor, and breaking down the defense with advanced dribble drive moves.
Workout Analysis: Norris is a long athlete who can get off the ground and play high above the rim. At his size he will be hard to guard if he can learn how to get the ball on a “string” and break people down off the dribble, because he has the size to get to a spot on the floor and elevate over anybody. Norris has a high ceiling if he continues to develop and obtains a “takeover” attitude.
Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Devon Turk (6’3 g North Shore HS 2012)
We worked on between the legs hesitation, between the leg behind the back, crossover behind the back, in and out (left and right), in and out behind the back, in and out crossover, etc…and a host of other moves off the dribble. We also worked on various moves from the corners and wings out of triple threat ( shot fake-shot, cross step-sweep through, double jab, cross-step-blow by, shot fake-jab, etc…) We also worked on 2 dribble pull-up from different spots on the floor, out of bounds to elbow-pull-up jumper, and full court “W” finishing at the rim.
Workout Analysis: Turk is trying to build a name for himself in the Houston area. In order to do so, he must remain consistent with everything he does. When he is on balance he can really stroke the ball. Outler has a really good pull-up jumper off of 1 or 2 dribbles. I want to focus with him on being able to break people down off the dribble and eventually learning how to run the point, which is what he will have to do at Texas Tech at times. Both guys worked hard, and will continue to get better.

Tommy Mason Griffin (5'10 pg Oklahoma Fr)
TMG is getting ready for the draft. He has officially declared for the NBA Draft and now he is full time grind mode in hopes of getting drafted. Tommy has all the tools as far as ball handling, court vision, range, playmaking, and shooting ability to be a high major pro. The glaring factor that we will be working on is conditioning. Every drill we did was with conditioning. We did 2 ball dribble alternating dribbles and 1 high and 1 low full court, stopping on a dime and changing direction, exploding through resistance with 2 balls, star shooting off the dribble and catch and shoot, explosion drills at the rim avoiding the charge, reading the D and exploding to a spot for the pull-up, and NBA shooting drill where he had to make 5 in a row 3 times from 5 spots behind the arc.
Devon Turk (6‘3 g North Shore HS 2012), Brandon Peters (6‘1 g Yates HS 2010), Elton Roy ( 6‘3 g Yates HS 2010), Jamel Outler (6‘3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Jonathon Jordan (5‘10 g Hightower HS 2011), Willam malek (6‘1 g Mountain State Prep 2011), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g Mountain State Prep 2011)
We worked on full court ball handling and pulling up for the midrange jumper using the behind the back, between the legs, crossover, and pull back, pushing the rock on the break making a quick move and pulling up, 1 dribble pull up from the wings and corners, 1 dribble spin-pull-up from the corners and wings, double combo moves and finish on the other side of the rim, and elbow shooting--sprinting from sideline to sideline. We finished with 1 on 1 closeouts, 1 on 1 popping out to the wing, and 2 on 2 with a 5 second shot clock.
Workout Analysis: Elton Roy is the top unsigned senior in Houston. Today he showed the ability to elevate for his shot and use his strength to power his way to the hole. He is definitely a solid mid major D1 player. Jonathon Jordan will be one of the top point guards in the area if he develops some consistency on his jump shot. He was using the hesitation dribble and blowing by people and finishing at the rim. He won the 1 on 1 game where the offensive man had to dribble to half court and the defender had to sprint to the baseline and closeout. Brandon Peters can develop into a special player and play for money one day if he becomes a knock down shooter and learns how to run the point. He has the competiveness and ability to slash and finish at a high level, and his athleticism and explosiveness is on another level. Outler displayed his strength, which is the mid range jumper and 1 dribble pull-up. He won the 1 on 1 game where they had to pop out to the wing as he was creating space with his length and his athletic ability. Ibrahim and Maluk are on their way back to West Virginia. Ibrahim is one of the top players in the country as he has received interest from the ACC and Big 12. He showed his ability to shoot it from deep as buried a couple of really deep jumpers and used his size (6’6) to shoot over the top of smaller defenders. Turk hit some jumpers, which is his strength right now as a player. Being the youngest player in the workouts, will make Turk a tougher player in learning how to defend and make plays off the dribble.

Jett and Jace Howard (Awty International) 6 and 8 yrs old!!
Workout Analysis: The two younger sons of NBA star Juwan Howard. These guys are going to be very talented. Jett is already a confident player on the court and has great corridnation for a kid so young. Jace is a long and lanky 8 yr old who is developing on the offensive end.
Thursday, March 18, 2010
Joseph Munoz (6'3 g Cy Creek 2012)
Workout Analysis: Munoz has strecthed out to 6'3. He has a nice lefty stroke, and will at least be a mid major D1 guy if he develops some explosiveness off the dribble. I know he has the ability to catch and shoot, so we worked on all moves off the dribble breaking the defense down.
Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Jamel Outler (6'3 Bellaire HS 2010), Lante Phillips (6'0 g Westbury Christian 2010), Jason Carter (6'8 f Christian Life 2010)
Laurynce Andrus (6'2 g Pershing MS 2015)
Workout Analysis: Andrus is a big 7th grader. He is already physically stronger than any player his age. becuase of that he has been forced to play down low, but I want to develop his guard skills. He has good athleticism and will be playing above the rim by the time he is in 9th grade. He is a tough competitor and went full tilt in every drill.
Tuesday, March 16, 2010
Lante Phillips (6‘0 g Westbury Christian 2010), Tommy Mason Griffin (5‘10 pg Oklahoma FR), Clyde Smith (6‘1 g Hotchkiss 2012), Jason Carter (6‘8 f Christian Life 2010), Michael Randle (5‘10 g USAO FR), Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Henry Uhweghu (Overseas)
We worked on full court pull-up jumpers at the elbow, college 3 point line, and NBA line, change of direction pull-up, star shooting off the dribble, star shooting with the catch and shoot, and quick release shooting from NBA range from 7 different spots on the floor.
Workout Analysis: Phillips is holding out for a look at the D1 level. He will be a good pickup for a school looking for a solid point guard who can shoot the ball. Randle is coming off a good freshman season at USAO where he led the team in assists. Carter looks more comfortable day by day handling the rock. He still has to work on staying low and on balance. Griffin showed why he is potentially a pro with his range and ability to stroke the ball when fatigued. Uhweghu is waiting on an offer from overseas, and night be headed to the NBA D League next season.
Sunday, March 14, 2010
Anthony Odunsi (6’4 pg Travis HS 2011), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Tobi Oyedeji (6’8 Bellaire HS 2010 ) Clyde Smith (6’1 pg Hotchkiss 2012)
We worked on ball control, double crossover, step back pull-up, crossover pull-up, splitting the D with the floater, Tim Hardaway crossover, yank back pull-up, hesitation cross, off the glass pull-up, Baron Davis step away.
Friday, March 12, 2010
Anthony Odunsi (6’4 pg Travis HS 2011), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Christian Crockett (6’5 Travis HS 2012)
We worked on high level ball handling moves, creating space off the dribble, playing in space, finishing in traffic, handling the ball in pick and roll situations and 2 on 2 off the flex screen, down screen.
Workout Analysis: In the 2 on 2 matchups it was Carter and Outler vs. Odunsi and Crockett. Odunsi showed the ability to make quick reads and passes that a pg must make in order to play at a high level. Crockett must continue to work on developing wing skills. Outler showed the ability move without the ball and elevate-catch and shoot from anywhere on the floor. Carter was knocking down threes off the dribble and catch and shoot.
Wednesday, March 10, 2010
Clyde Smith (6’1 pg Hotchkiss 2012)
We worked on change of direction moves, push dribble and explode at the basket in the open court, freezing the help defense and powering up at the rim, Iverson reverse layup with both hands, crossover with a countermove and pull-up, breaking down the defender off the dribble (read the defense)-make a pass-then relocate to an open spot for the jumper, condition shooting, 3 in a row 3 times from each spot (spot shooting), and fast break scoring (6 secs to score from baseline to baseline with pressure D).
Workout Analysis: Smith is returning home from Hotchkiss in Connecticut where he was the leading scorer (18ppg) for his squad. Along the way he picked up offers from Northwestern and Notre Dame this year. Smith has a good handle on the ball and release on the jumper. I just want to enhance his game and make a more explosive athlete.
Ryan Garcia (5’10 pg Jersey Village 2012)
We worked ball control drills and fingertip control, freezing the help D and finishing at the rim, scoring off the jab and up fake, attacking the basket after sliding into an open space to receive the ball, reading the defense and making a pass on the run after a spin move and crossover, and a drill I like to call big time shooting where you are sprinting from one wing to the other(you have to make 20, but cant miss more than 2 in a row or you will have to start all over).
Workout analysis: The big time shooting is a drill that can really build mental toughness and fortitude in a player. It can make you or break you because it is really a concentration drill and you can might make it all the way to 17 make-miss 2 ina row and have to start back at 0. Garcia did a good job of fighting and getting over the mental hump and finally finishing the drill. This type of thing get players mentally ready for the next level!
Jamel Outler (6’3g Bellaire HS 2010), Devon Turk (6’3g North Shore HS 2012)
We worked on dribbling in a tight space, turning the corner at the elbow and finishing at the rim through contact, pushing the ball making a read and knocking down the open jumper, pushing the ball in the open court and finish with the defense trailing, sprinting the wing and making an athletic play at the rim, the “Ghost move” going left and right, jab baseline 1 dribble pull-up, 2 dribble pull-up, jab middle 1 dribble pull-up, and 20 spot shooting sprinting from corner to corner, wing to wing and elbow to elbow. We finished with 1 on 1 inside the free throw lane, and on both wings.
Workout Analysis: Turk has really improved his ball handling. He showed his shooting his prowess in the 3 point spot shooting where he was making more over 50% of shots. He still has to continue to improve on his defense to really elevate his game to the next level. Outler has to continue to work on his ball handling. He will be asked to play the point at times next year at Texas Tech. He has the athleticism to be able to get to any spot on the floor and pull-up for the open jumper.
Christian Crockett (6’5 f Travis HS 2012), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010)
We worked a lot of ball handling ( between the legs-hesitation, behind the back wrap, between the legs crossover, pull-back dribble, 1 hand ball control, between the legs-behind the back, double crossover,etc..), jab step from the corner-taking one dribble and finishing on the opposite side of the rim,jab baseline- 2 dribble pull-up, jab from the wing 2 dribble and 1 dribble pull-up, chair drill where you are exploding to the rim with no dribbles, playing of the cross screen, and playing 1 on 1 popping out the corner and 5 dunk where Im throwing the ball out and you have to chase it down and dunk it( at the end of the workout when you have no legs).
Workout Analysis: Carter has turned himself into an explosive athlete and now that he is on balance his jumper is looking really good. Crockett has a good frame on him and it was good for him to matchup with someone like Carter who had the size advantage. Once Crockett learns how to play in space and really break people down and use his athleticism and strength to score he will be hard to guard (esp considering the fact the he is a lefty). Both guys worked extremely hard and pushed their selves.
Wednesday, Febraury 24, 2010
Ryan Garcia (5’10 pg Jersey Village HS 2012)
We worked on full court push dribble--exploding at the rim, 2 ball control dribble and explosin dribble, tennis ball reaction drill with the crossover, speed dribble, between the legs behind the back, and between the legs behind the back crossover, “Dwayne Wade” bully move, closing out on defense from various angles on the court, offense to defense transition drills defensive “IQ“ drill, star shooting with the 1 dribble pull-up, and “17” where he had to score 17 points from different spots on the floor in a limited amount of shots.
Workout Analysis: Today was a strenuous workout and I wanted to push Garcia past his physical limits. it’s the off season, so its time to grind! I wanted to challenge him to make decisions, plays, and shots while he was tired. That’s what can separate you; if you can go as hard at the end of the game as you can in the 1st quarter. Garcia pushed through, got over the mental hump and completed the drills while he was tired.
Henry Uhweghu (6’4 g Overseas)
It was a straight shooting workout for Henry. We did the “NBA” shooting drill where he had to make 5 in a row 3 times from 7 different spots on the floor. You have to make at lest 10 in a row from the last spot. The ball couldn’t touch any parts of the rim. You have to be a pro to complete this shooting drill or you will be shooting for hours without completing the drill!
Workout Analysis: Uhweghu has a legendary work ethic. As he prepares to receive his next contract overseas he is back in the gym grinding.
Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2012), Deaundray Griffin (6’0 g Madison HS 2010)
We started off with the weight vest doing plyometric exercises ( box jumps, defensive slides on the box, side jumps, quick feet drills, one legs explosion and squat drills, and rim touches. We then worked on ball handling with the “1-2” crossover, in and out below the knee, crossover behind the back, and crossover between the legs. We then did spot shooting from 5 spots, and off the glass hooting from the angles. We ended with the 1 on 1 series (going thru a flex screen, going through a down screen, going through a double screen, popping to the wing, and full court cutthroat.
Workout Analysis: Griffin is an explosive athlete and he can get to the rim and finish. When his jumper is falling he is hard to guard. Turk’s ball handling has really improved. He made a couple of quick moves off the dribble where I don’t even think he realized how open he was. I really pushed them past their threshold of pain today to see how they would react against adversity on the court. They responded well and continued to push.
Sunday, February 21, 2010
Kevin Williams (5’10 g Pearland HS 2010), Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2012), Ryan Garcia (5’10 g Jersey Village HS 2012), Khris Roy (5’10 g HBU), Ivory Gill (6’0 g Katy HS 2010), Christian Sanders (6’4 g Pin Oak MS 2014)
We worked on the crossover, behind the back, pull-back, behind the back crossover, pull-back crossover, 1 dribble pull-up to the middle and baseline, double crossover pull-up, fake crossover pull-up, jab step pull-up and the 2 on 2 games (0, 1, 2, and 3 dribbles).
Workout Analysis: Williams, Outler, Turk, and Gill are getting ready for the playoffs this week. Sanders was the youngest person in the workouts, but he might have been one of the most impressive. He wasn’t afraid to get up and guard, and he was attacking the rim aggressively. He is easily one of the top 3 or 4 players in his class in the area. Williams was using the pull-back dribble and head fakes all day long to get open looks at the basket. Carter was breaking down people with a nice crossover and was attacking the rim. Outler was using his athleticism to make plays off the dribble. Roy was the best player on the floor. He was raining deep 3’s from all over the floor. Garcia and Turk are both young 2012 players that can shoot the ball, but will have to focus more on the defensive end. Gill s another shooter who will have to learn how to break people down off the dribble.
Friday, February 19, 2010
Ryan Garcia (5’10 g Jersey Village HS 2012)
We started off with acceleration running drills working on change of speed and explosion. We also worked on full court layups(stretching out after two dribbles and finishing at the rim), Euro step layups and floaters with both hands, traffic layups avoiding the charge, reading the defense around the elbow area and shooting the pull-up, long jab-half jab jumper, pull back and hesitation pull-up, crossover behind the back pull-up, exploding at the rim through contact, and the 3 stops drill where he has to get 3 stops and 3 baskets after guarding the ball full court.
Workout Analysis: Garcia is yet another player in the well chronicled class of 2012 in the Houston area. As a sophomore he led the team in scoring and had a season high 30 against Cy Creek. He can really shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor. We are going to be working on making him a more explosive player, where he can get to any spot he wants to on the floor for a pull-up jumper.
Wednesday, Febraury 17, 2010
Deaundray Griffin (6'0 g Madison 2010), Khris Roy (5'10 g HBU), Devon Turk (6'4 g North Shore HS 2012)
We worked some footwork and first step drills to build that explosiveness off the dribble and a quick 1st step. We then worked with the 8lb heavy exploding to the rim off of two feet and quick jumps. We then worked on the opposite hand layup on the same side ofnthe rim, reverse layups with the opposite hand, euro step layups and floaters, i dribble pull-ups from the corners, 2 dribble pull-ups from the wings, 3 dribbles from beyond halfcourt and 1 on 1 games (help side and close out from all spots on the floor).
Workout Analysis: Griffin has a strong build and is athletic. If he can consistently knock down the jumoer he will have a spot on the next level. Roy used his experience to win a majority of the 1 on contests as he utuilized the hesitation dribble and pull-up jumper to score.
Sunday, Febraury 14, 2010
Anthony Odunsi (6'4 g Travis HS 2011)
We worked on ball control with the left and right hand, dribbling through contact, and making moves in tight spaces. We also worked making an explosive moves and getting to a spot on the floor for the pull-up. We then finished with spot shooting where you have to make 3 in a row 3 times each from all 5 spots on the floor.
Workout Analysis: Odunsi is a big guard who can pick and choose what spots he wants to get to on the floor for a pull-up. I am working with him on seeing the floor and bcoming a point guard, which is the position he wants to play in college.
Horace Scott (5'10 g Westfield HS 2012), Jonathon Jordan (5'10 g Hightower HS 2011), Jason Carter (6'8 f Christian Life HS), Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Devon Turk (6'4 g North Shore HS 2012), Marc Williams (6'4 g Westside HS 2010)
We worked on various ball hahndling moves including the pull-back, pull back spin, pull-back crossover, in and out crossover, behind the back wrap, between the legs blow by, "1-2" crossover, behind the back crossover, etc. We also worked on the Steve Nash opposite hand layup (left hand layup on the rigth side; right hand layup on the left side), opposite hand reverse layups, Euro step layups, Euro step floaters, step back jumpers, pull-back jumpers, hesitation jumpers, 1 and 2 dribble pull-ups, and fastbreak pull-ups. We ended with 2 on 2 halfcourt. we played 3 different games----0 dribbles, 1 dribble, 2 dribble, and 3 dribbles.
Workout Analysis: Outler dominated the 2 on 2 series. He had a couple of dunks in the 1 dribble games which shoes you his explosiveness, length, and athletic ability. He has to continue to work on ballhandling in order to be able to get minutes next year at Texas Tech. Jordan was able to get in the lane and elevate and make plays as well. Once his midrange becomes consistent he will be hard to guard. Carter was working hard as usual and knocked down a number of three balls and long jumpers i the games with 0 dribbles which shows his ability to move withoout the ball. The purpose of the ga,es with limited ribbles is to make them learn how to move, cut, screen, utilize the dribble effectively, and play without the basketball.
Saturday, Febraury 13, 2010
Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2010), Delvin Dickerson ( 6'5 g Alief Taylor 2012), Obi (6'3 g Westside HS 2012)
Workout Analysis:I don’t know a kid in the Houston area that works as hard as Carter. He comes to the gym ready to work and get better. He goes all-out in every drill. This type of work ethic is why high major coaches all over the country are after Carter. He really desires to transition his game to a big wing and I am continuing to work on his perimeter skills, ball handling, and footwork. Turk is one of the unknown secrets in Houston. He can put the ball in the basket. I am working on adding other dimensions (defense, ball handling to his repertoire). Dickerson has the size and strength to overpower small guards. He also has a nice shooting touch. He will havr to improve is ball-handking in order to be able to break people down off the dribble and be an insode-outside threat. he is a nice porspect.

Marc Williams (6’4 f Westside 2010), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2010)
We worked on handling the ball in tight space with the in and out crossover, behind the back, between the legs. We also worked om various moves off the dribble including the hesitaion pull-up, between the legs spin, half spin, in and out pull-up, crossover pull-up, and 1 dribble pull-up. We ended with rapid fire shooting which develops a quick release as you have three balls coming at you alternately and you have tlo stand in one spot and get off 25 attempts.
Workout Analysis: Carter was fresh off the plane from Rhode Island where his Christian Life team was participating in a national prep school tournament. That goes to show me this young mans dedication to the game of basketball. Working with Williams on developing guard skills for the next level.

Khris Roy (HBU), Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2012)
We worked on various ball handling moves including the crossover, double-crossover, behind the back wrap, between the legs, and hesitation dribble, left and right hand floaters, bank shots, reverse layups with both hands, and full court 1 on 1 .
Workout Analysis: Roy was one of the better scorers in the 2009 class in Hoston. I am working with his ball handling trying to convert him to a point guard if he wants to reach his maximum potential on the college level. I am also continuing to work with Turk on his explosiveness, ball handling, and defensive intensity.

Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2012)
We worked on the long jab-half jab, cross step, 2 dribble pull-up, crossover pull-up,between the legs pull-up, hesitation pull-up, behind the back pull-up, NBA range threes catch and shoot, college threes off the dribble and catch and shoot, glass shots from mid range and three point territory, and extensive ball handling with the heavy ball.
Workout Analysis: Turk can stroke the ball, and he is improving with his ball handling. Once he gets the ball on a “string” and develops some explosiveness he will be hard to guard because he can really shoot the ball with extended range.

Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2012), Jonathon Jordan (5’10 g Hightower HS 2011)
We worked on the Tim Hardaway cross, between the legs –behind the back pull-up, left hand floaters, mid range pull-ups, fast break pull-ups at the elbow, on the run pull-ups from halfcourt, fade and curl catch and shoot jumpers, up fake-1 dribble pull-ups, jab step and sweep-through jumpers, and 1 on1 series (close outs, 3 sec shot clock, and full court 1 on 1)
Workout Analysis: Jordan must continue to develop his mid range jumper. He can suprise people with his athleticism (At 5’10 he can elevate and dunk it) and he must use that explosive to get to spots on the floor and elevate for his jumper. He has a really nice handle and must learn how not to overdribble, but use his handles and quickness to his advantage. Despite an unorthadox form on his release Turk can shoot the ball. The one on one matchup with Jordan is good because it is forcing him to move his feet and guard someone who is quicker than him. He has has to learn how to punish the defender when he is smaller than you and not settle for the long jumper. Both guys competed in the 1 on1 series. Jordan got the best of Turk in the halcourt closeouts as used his hesitaition dribble to create space. In the fullcourt game Turk learned how to use his size to his advantage as he got to the hole and shot over th e top of Jordan. Both guys have bright futures if they continue to work hard.
Sunday, January 24, 2010
William Young (5’10 pg St. Johns 2010), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Adrien Godine (6’5 f Madison 2010), Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore 2012)
We worked on the pro hop, pro hop fadeaway, middle floater, baseline floater. 2 dribble pull-up baseline, 2 dribble pull-up middle, reverse pivot sweep through. Reverse pivot jab, flare screen catch and shoot, and up fake 1 dribble pull-ups. We then played a series of 1 on 1 games (full court, pop out to the wing, and inside the paint 1 on 1).
Workout Analysis: Nobody could stop Young off the dribble. He will find a place on the next level as he continues to work on consistency with the jump shot. Carter is one of the most talented players in the area with his combination of size and skill. He has a nice touch all the way out to the 3point line. He has to work on being a consistent player every night as he is being courted by some high major programs. Godine is a hard nosed forward who also has a nice shooting tough. He will have to work on his ball handling skills as he will be more of small forward on the next level. At Madison he is more of a back to the basket player and he will have to transition to more of a perimeter player. Turk knows how to score the ball. He hit a variety of tough shots (leaners, floaters, off balance jumpers) in the one on one games.
Saturday, January 23, 2010
Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2012), Maurice Ellis (6’8 f Cy Spring HS 2012)
We worked on ball handling and fingertip control, handling the ball in tight spaces, stars shooting with layups and dunks, finishing at the rim through contact, avoiding the charge, rapid fire shooting from all over the court, full court defense, pick and roll situations, post and passing out of the post, relocating for the three pointer, and scoring against pressure.
Workout Analysis: Turk can really shoot the ball. He has to work on becoming more explosive and creating off the dribble to get to that shot. Ellis has an excellent touch for a big and he will eventually transform into a wing if he continues to develop and work. Developing ball handling will be for a key for him as well as footwork to stay with quicker opponents on the perimeter.
Sunday, January 19, 2010
Sebastion Douglass (6'3 pg Bellaire 2010), Kene Anyigbo (6'5 f Bellaire 2010), Johnathon Evans (5'10 pg bellaire 2010), Jeremy Hines (6'0 g Bellaire HS 2010)
We did the star shooting with layups and catch and shoot jump shots, crossover pull-ups, between the legs blow by, floaters with the left and right hand, 1 and 2 dribble pull-ups, step backs, Iverson reverse layups, big guard spin--pull-up jumper, and hesitation blow by.
Workout Analysis: Douglass is a big time athlete. He can finish above the rim and make plays in the open court. His mid ranje jumper has improved and he must continue to work on it to keep defenses honest. Anyigbo is a monster down low and he is working on expanding his game to the perimeter which he must do in order to be a big contributor for Western Kentucky. Evans has been on fire lately for Bellaire as his 3 point and mid range game have been money. If he continues too play at this pace a small school looking for a solid pg will come with an offer. Hines is a key weapon for the Bellaire bench. he is a catch and shoot threat from anywhere behind the arc. He has to contine to work on his ballhandling and breaking people down off the dribble.
Thursday, January 14, 2010
Jonathon Jordan (5'10 pg Hightower 2011), Stephen Osuji (River Oaks Baptist 2014)
We worked on finishing with the off hand and the bump (a la Steve Nash), reverse layups, counter moves with the crossover-behind the back, jab step-pull-up, reverse pivot pull-up, reverse pivot spin, up and under, "Kobe" reverse pivot, step back jumper, step back-crossover, 1 and 2 dribble pull-ups, breaking down the D and curling into a jumper, and deep 3's catch and shoot from the corners.
Workout Analysis: Jordan has to continue to work on his mid range pull-up game. He has the quickness and ball handling to break any defender down off the dribble. He also has a nice explosive step and can elevate. Consistently knocking down the jumper will be the key to him playing at the next level. Osuji also has to become a consistent perimeter threat. He did a good job of knocking down shots today. Some of the moves we work on are high level moves and if he can master them there wont be anyody able to guard him at the middle school level.
Sunday, January 10, 2010
Tobi Oyedeji (6'9 Bellaire HS 2010), Chris Idi (5'7 Sartatia MS 2014), Jason Carter (6'8 Christian Life 2010), Kevin Williams (6'0 g pearland HS 2010), Chad Jackson (6'0 g Blinn JUCO), Jesse Anyigbo (5'4 g St. Thomas More 2015),
We worked on full court push dribble layups, full court pull-ups at the elbows, full court pull-up three pointers, 1 dribble pull-up to the middle, 1 dribble pull-up to the baseline, step back, step back crossover, catch and shoot from all 5 spots on the floor, and full court one on one.
Workout Analysis: Oyedeji and Carter went at it in the 1 on1 full court drills. Carter had success with the deep three balls while Oyedeji was creating off the dribble and making plays with his left hand. The full court 1 on1 where they had to stay within the parameters of the free throw lane really tested their ball handling skills. Willams and Jackson really went at it and competed. Williams is one of the strongest guards in the area with the ball in his hands and as a really nice mid range game. He will be a nicepickup for a mid major looking for a solid pg.
Sunday, January 3, 2010
Jason Carter (6’8 Christian Life 2010), Sebastion Douglass (6’3 g Bellaire 2010), Chris Idi (5’5 g Sartatia MS 2014), Adrain Kuyinu (6’4 f Dulles 2010), Bryant Mbamulu (6’4 g Dulles 2010), Chad Jackson (6’0 g Blinn JUCO)
We worked on the Iverson layup with both hands, big guard crossover with the counter move, step back jumper, step back crossover, big step fadeaway, pull-up jumper at both elbows, spin in paint, left and right hand floaters, 1 dribble pull-ups from the wing, 2 dribble pull-up from the deep corner, the crossover pull-up, and star shooting.
Workout Analysis: Carter, Douglass, Kuyinu, and Mbamulu four of the top unisigned seniors in the area. If Douglass can consistently knock down the mid range jumper it will elevate his game to another level. The same can be said for Kuyinu who pound for pound plays harder than anybody in Houston. Mbamulu has one of the better mid range games is Houston. His game can really take off once he masters breaking people down off the dribble. Idi is at the top of his class (2014) when it comes to point guards and decision-making. He will have to learn how to turn on that killer instinct and play with a chip on his shoulder that most small guards have in order to become a high major prospect. Jackson is headed to Blinn for the Spring semester where he will redshirt and play in the fall. Really concentrating with Carter on staying low and explosive. This will be imperative if he wants to play on the wing.

Drew Bashen (6’0 g Memorial 2010), Jason Carter (6’8 f 2010 Christian Life), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g Mountain State Prep) William Maluk (6’0 g Mountain State Prep)
We worked on full court ball handling---changing directions, getting the defender to raise up, and counter moves in the open court. We also did dribble horses (suicides while dribbling the basketball). We also worked on the 2 dribble pull-up off the glass, step back, step back crossover, Tim Hardaway pull-up, and the step back fadeaway. We also did 3 min 3 point shooting and full court one on one.
Workout Analysis: Ibrahim won the one on one matchup with Carter while Bashen won the matchup with Maluk. The full court one on one is a great conditioning drill and defensive exercise as well. There is no help side and you have to pick up your man at 3 quarters court.
Thursday, December 31, 2009
Sheldon McClellan (6’5 g Bellaire 2011), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g Mounatin State Prep 2011),
We did tennis ball catch ball handling with the double crossover, between the legs behind the back, between the legs behind the back crossover, between the legs twice, and speed dribble. We also worked on beating the man to middle—making a countermove and finishing on the opposite side with the Iverson reverse layup on both sides of the floor. We then worked on beating the man---hesitation dribble—and the exploding to a pull-up on the baseline. We also worked on the hard spin, Kobe reverse pivot, reverse pivot fade away, reverse pivot—up and under, step back, and the one dribble pull-up to the baseline and middle. We also worked on NBA range threes from 25 feet + around the arc. We ended the workout with 3 min 3 point shooting as they tried to make as many as they could from around the arc in 3 minutes.
Workout Analysis: McClellan and Ibrahim are both big guards with good ball skills. Ibrahim is more of a 2/3 while McClellan is more of a point/shooting guard. They both were competing in the shooting drills from NBA range displaying their shooting touch. The point of shooting from such a long distance is to make the college and high school 3 feel like a layup. In the 3 minute shooting drill from the highs school line McClellan drained 33( 4 shy of the record set by Rashad Woods) while Ibrahim knocked down 22.
Sunday, December 27, 2009
Jason Carter ( 6’8 f Christian Life 2010)
We worked on the mid range and short corner jumpers, pick and pop jumper, pick and pop 2 dribble pull-up, quick fade away, jump hook over both shoulders, up and under, sweep through, sweep through spin, sweep through up and under, reverse pivot, fake fade-spin-jump hook.
Workout Analysis: Jason is one of the hardest workers that I have dealt with. He always leaves a workout drenched in sweat. In addition to my workout he also ran extra sprints. (Not to mention that he had practice later on that same night) He has a really nice touch for a big, and if he evolves will be a small forward/power forward on the next level. He projects as a fringe high major player.
Saturday, December 26, 2009
Winston Sheppard (6’7 f Findlay Prep 2012), Jonathon Jordan (5’10g Hightower 2011) Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g Mounatin State Prep 2011), Maurice Wiltz (6’1 g Stafford 2010), Anthony Odunsi (6’4 g Travis HS 2011) William Abdul-Malak (6’0 g Mountain State Prep 2011)
We worked on the pull-up jumper in a fastbreak situation, ball-handling and control dribble with the behind the back wrap, crossover, change of direction, between the legs, pull back, and retreat dribble. We also worked on the 2 dribble pull-up, jab middle-1 dribble pull-up, and a variety of 1 on 1 games (including full court 1 on1)
Workout Analysis: Sheppard and Ibrahim went head to head in the one on one matchups. Its ironic that these two will face each other after the Christmas break in a tournament out East. It was a matchup of two big wings. Both guys can handle and shoot. Ibrahim is more adept with the ball handling while Sheppard is a better athlete.Sheppard is highly regarded and is one of the top 25 players in the nation in his class. Wiltz and Odunsi matched up. Odunsi is a bigger more physical guard, while Wiltz is quicker and more athletic. They are two fierce competitors and its hard to say who got the best of the individual matchup.

Thursday, December 24, 2009
Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g Mounatin State Prep 2011), Maurice Wiltz (6’1 g Stafford 2010), Anthony Odunsi (6’4 g Travis HS 2011), William Abdul-Malak (6’0 g Mountain State Prep 2011)

Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire 2010), Lante Phillips (6’0 g Westbury Christian 2010), Ray Penn (5’9 g Oklahoma State), Tracy Dunes (6’0 g Spring 2010)
They guys got some shots up around the arc then they played some competitive 2 on 2 games.
Workout Analysis: It was good for Phillips to play against Penn. Phillips can shoot the ball, but will have to work on breaking his man down off the dribble to be really successful at the next level. Dunes has finally been cleared by UIL to play for Spring. He can also stroke the ball and will have to show his ability to play the point guard spot to play at the next level. Outler and Penn will be seeing each other for the next 3 years in the Big 12 (Texas Tech and Oklahoma State). Outler looks like he has regained his stroke from 3 point land and he is attacking the basket aggressively. Penn is fresh off a hard game against LaSalle earlier in the week where he faced some big guards who were trying to post him up. He is still adjusting to life at the highest level in college basketball.
Maurice Ellis (6’8 f Cy Springs 2012)
We worked on post positioning and footwork on the block. We also worked on keeping the ball high and finishing with contact, right and left hand jump hook, face up jab-jumper, face up sweep-through, face up spin, up and under, everse pivot, short corner and high post jumpers, pick and pop jumpers, pick and pop-up fake and attack the rim, and one dribble pull-ups from the arc with the left and right hand.
Workout Analysis: I am really concentrating on Ellis footwork. He actually looks more comfortable and fluid making moves from the perimeter than the low post. He has a really nice jump shot. I just want him to be in attack mode at all times. Ellis has a lot of potential to be an inside-out type of player.
Tuesday, December 22, 2009
Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g Mountain State Prep 2011), Maurice Ellis (6’8 f Cypress Springs 2012)
We worked on open court moves and finishing, avoiding the charge in traffic, finishing above the rim with contact, 2 dribble pull-up from all angles on the court, counter moves (spin, behind the back, crossover) off the 2 dribble, star shooting with dunks and mid range J’s, and catch and shoot mid range from all spots on the floor.
Workout Analysis: Maurice is a natural 4 man, and Im working on developing his face up and wing skills. Ibrahim just got back in town from West Virginia. They will be facing Findlay Prep after the break. Ellis has a really nice touch out to 15-17 feet. I am really concentrating on developing his ball skills. Ibrahim has to continue to work on his explosiveness.

Adrain Kuyinu (6’4 f Dulles 2010), Kene Anyigbo (6’5 f Bellaire 2010) Eric Moreland (6’9 f UTEP), Sheldon McClellan (6’5 g Bellaire 2010), Jamel Outler (6’3g Bellaire 2010), Jonathon Evans (5’10 g Bellaire 2010), Phelix Davis (6’1 g Western TX JUCO), Chris Idi (5'6 Sartartia MS 2014)
We worked on the Iverson reverse layup, pro-hop, big step fadeaway, crossover pull-up, crossover spin, crossover –behind the back, between the legs crossover-pull-up three, double crossover, yank-back pull-up, yank back-crossover pull-up, 2 dribble pull-up at the elbow, and the 2 dribble pull-up from the wing and corner.
Workout Analysis: Davis is a really hard worker. If he continues to improve over the next two years at JUCO he cold end up at a mid-major D1. McClellan is possibly the most talented kid in the Houston area. At his size he has the ability to run the point, but will have to fine tune his ball handling against small guards on the next level whose sole purpose will be to harass him every time he puts the ball on the floor. Outler looks like he has an extra bounce in his step after the breakout game against Madison. He has regained the confidence that made him a high major prospect. Kuyinu will have to continue to develop his perimeter game. At Dulles he has the played the 4, but will have to showcase to scouts his guard skills. No coach will question his work ethic or passion for the game. Evans will eb a solid pickup for a school looking for a leader and tough defender. Idi came to workouts straight from an AAU game. That shows me the kids dedication to the game. He has a really good handle and feel for the game. he is one of the top 10 players in his class.

Jonathon Jordan (5'10 pg Hightower 2011)
We started off with the 6 pound heavy ball (ball drops) to develop strength in the forearms, hands, and wrists. Jordan has a thin frame and will have to get stronger and learn how to absorb contact. We then worked on the tennis ball reaction drill. We did the tennis ball catch with the scissors dribble, behind the back twice, between the legs-behind the back, between the legs-behind the back crossover, and sprint dribble with the left and right hand. We then did resistance dribbling with 2 balls the full length of the court, and speed dribbling with 2 balls on the way back. We then did ball control dribble drills ( one hand in and out, behind the back, crossover, between the legs blow by, etc.) We then worked on the floater from all angles of the court with the left and right hand. Crossover pull-up at the elbows, crossover behind the back pull-up, behind the back- spin-pull-up, pull-up off the pick and roll, split the pick-pull-up, refuse the screen-pull-up. We ended the day with star shooting utilizing the catch and shoot, 1 dribble pull-up, and 2 dribble pull-up.
Workout Analysis: As i have stated before Jordan just had to become a conssitent shooter. He can get to any spot he wants to on the floor off the dribble and knocking down the mid-range jumper with regularity will elevate his game. He has done a good job of leadign his Hightower squad to a big win over Madison, and they almost pulled the big upset over Bellaire.
Sunday, December 13, 2009
Clyde Santee (6’6 f Yates 2012), Damyean Dotson (6’4 g Yates 2012), Malcolm Glover (6’1 g Bellaire 2012), Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire 2010), Tobi Oyedeji (6’8 f Bellaire 2010), Drew Bashen ( 6’0 g Memorial 2010), Jonathon Jordan (5’10 g Hightower 2011), Jonathon Pittman (6’6 g Panola JC) Chad Jackson (JUCO), Chad Wise (5’8 g Port Arthur Memorial 2013)
We worked on a lot of ball handling moves exploding to the basket. We worked on different variations of the crossover, pull-back, behind the back, between the legs, Tim Hardaway “1-2”, counter moves, Pro step, side step, hop step, floaters with both hands, 2 dribble pull-ups, baseline spin, spin middle, fadeaway middle, fadeaway baseline, and the up and under in traffic.
Workout Analysis: We put in some work today. Everybody went hard. The ball handling drills were key for Outler as he prepares for the pressure defense he will play in the Big 12. Ball handling drills were also crucial for Santee, Pittman, and Dotson. Santee is a inside-out forward who who can shoot the three. Increasing his ball handling will take his game to another level. Pittman is a really good athlete and if he wants to elevate his stock from a mid-major player to a high major guy he will have to be able to take people off the dribble. Dotson has a bright future, and is one of the best kept secrets in the 2012 class. If he can fine tune his ball handling to where he can run the point it will boost his stock dramatically. Jonathon Jordan has a good bounce to his game for a little guard and if he can continue to knock down the outside jumper on a consistent basis it will boost his recruitment. He was one guy that I noticed going really hard in every drill.
Wednesday,December 9, 2009
Eric Moreland (6’9 f UTEP) , Jared Woods (6’4 g Fort Bend Baptist 2010)
We started off with some high-level ball control drills where they had to execute a number of moves (in and out, crossover, behind the back, between the legs, scissors) with one hand. We then worked on the double cross, and behind the back wrap. We then worked on the side step hop with the left and right hand. We also worked on the Double crossover pull-up, “Big-Step” fade away, Reverse pivot, reverse pivot fade away, reverse pivot up and under, the “Ghost” –pull-up jumper, and the step back from the left and right baseline.
Workout Analysis: Moreland has a high skill level, but he must understand that a high skill level doesn’t always guarantee success. He has improved at such a rapid rate in the last few months that he can’t be satisfied with his success. To be a truly elite player you must be locked in and focused every time you step in the gym. Woods is a hard worker. He goes full blast in every drill and wants to get better. He displayed his concentration level at the end of the workout when he drained apprx 36 free-throws in a row.
Sunday, December 6, 2009
Malcolm Glover (6’1 Bellaire HS 2012), Bryant Mbamulu (6’4 Dulles HS 2010), Adrain Kuyinu (6’4 Dulles HS 2010), Myles Elgin (6’1 Madison HS 2012), Jamel Outler (6’3 Bellaire HS 2010), Jonathon Evans (5’10 Bellaire HS 2010), Kene Anyigbo (6’5 Bellaire HS 2010), Chad Jackson (6’0 Madison HS 2009—JUCO), Denzel Booker (5’10 Bellaire HS 2013), Jeremy Hines (6’0 Bellaire HS 2010)
Coach Mike Glover started the guys off with some stretching, footwork, agility, coordination, and foot speed drills. We then started off with a variety of ball handling drills including the behind back wrap and between the legs behind the back. The focus today was making moves off the dribble and finishing. We worked on the “Ginobilli” 2 step, running floater with the right and left hand, “Kobe” reverse pivot and fadeaway, “Tim Hardaway” crossover going left to right and right to left, and the Iverson double crossover. We also worked on catching on the reverse pivot---with the sweep through pull-up, jab step pull-up, pull back dribble pull-up, and pull-back crossover. We ended the day with spot shooting from all 5 spots beyond the arc.
Workout Analysis: Mbamulu, Kuyinu, Evans, and Hines are all unsigned seniors. The two Dulles guys (Mbamulu and Kuyinu) are fresh off a tournament championship in Austin. Anyigbo (Western Kentucky) and Outler (Texas Tech) have already D1 letters of intent. Booker, who was the starting running back on the varsity football team, was the lone freshman in the workouts. Elgin (who had the opportunity to play varsity but chose to play JV for playing time reasons) is the lone player in the workouts who isn’t on varsity. Glover is still recovering from an elbow injury and is looking to return in a few weeks. Jackson, who graduated from Madison in 2009, is looking to sign with a JUCO for the spring semester. All of these guys will have to improve their ball handling in order to be really successful college players. Mbamulu might have one of the best mid range and in between games in Houston. Outler looked confident and explosive on his 3pt release and despite the recent injury Glover also was knocking down the jumper consistently.

Eric Moreland
Todays focus was on ballhandling. Moreland is a really gifted ballhandler for a 6’9 player and I focused on him making moves from the wing position handling the ball. We worked on various crossovers, combo moves, spins, in and outs, and pull-ups. He has all the potential in the world to play at the highest level if he really focuses on dedicates himself to working hard.
December 2, 2009
Eric Moreland
We started off in the weight room with the leg press. The plan is to gradually increase his load in the weight room, as it is a pre-requisite that he get stronger if he wants to have a major impact at the next level. As far as gym work it was all about shooting and technique today. He did push-ups first to get his arms, back, and shoulders tight to build up that strength and range on his jump shot. We then did form shooting and spot shooting from all angles and areas of the court for an hour. Each shot could touch no parts of the rim or it wouldn’t count. This was done to build focus and concentration on each shot, and to build repetitions of seeing the ball go through the hole. His arms were pretty dead after an hour of shooting. We finished the session with ball handling full court. He had to grab a rebound finish it, then push the rock full court through a series of cones that were meant to simulate a defender guarding him full court---then pull up for a jump shot at 15 ft.
2nd session: Jonathon Jordan (5’10 pg Hightower 2011)
We didn’t do anything too strenuous considering the fact that he had practice and a tournament tomorrow. I really wanted to focus on Jordan with breaking the defense down getting in paint and finishing with the floater (left and right hand). This will have to be an automatic shot for Jordan since he is a little guard. He is a really crafty ball-handler and the floater is a shot that he must master. We worked on the floater from all different angles of the court (beating the defender to the middle and baseline—with both hands). We then worked on the pick and roll where he exploded with 2 hard dribbles off the screen man for the pull up, and where he refused the screen and went baseline.
December 1, 2009
Eric Moreland (6'9 f UTEP) University of Texas El-Paso freshman
Moreland is getting prepared to head to UTEP for the second semester where he will redshirt and be eligible to play next year. The first order of business for “E-Mo” if he wants to be successful at the Division 1 level is to get stronger. We started off with a warm-up in the weight room on the dip and pull-up machine where we worked on the chest, back, triceps, and biceps. It has yet to be determined whether Moreland will transform all the way into a 3 man or be a hybrid 4 man, but regardless of the position he will have to gain weight and get stronger. We then proceeded to the gym. We started off working on finishing to get his arms loose. We worked on catching it on the run and exploding up high off the glass with the right and left hand jumping off 1 leg. We then did the same thing off the two feet with a pump fake and explosion to the rim. We then worked on ball handling. Many people will be surprised to know that Moreland can really handle the ball for a 6’9 guy, which will make him a dangerous weapon on the next level. We worked on the change of direction crossover, between the legs blow by, and the in and out. We also worked on the speed dribble where he had to sprint and catch a tennis ball while maintaining his dribble. We then worked on him attacking the paint and finishing at the rim using a variety of moves (spin, up and under, reverse, fadeaway, jump stop, etc.) We then worked on post moves (quick fade, fake fade-spin back middle, jump hook, etc.)
Moreland has a lot of potential. He is what a lot of people would call a “late-bloomer”. He has the length, skill set, and athletic ability to succeed at UTEP if he continues to work and improve his game.

Rashad Woods (NBA D League), Clyde Santee (6’6 f Yates 2012), William Young (5’10 pg St. John’s 2010), Christion Johnson(2017 pg Victory Lakes Intermediate),
We started off with tennis ball dribbling where they had to sprint to the opposite end of the floor and catch a tennis all while maintaining their dribble. We then did the same thing but they had to go behind the back twice, scissors dribble, between the legs-behind the back, and between the legs behind the back crossover. We then did 2 ball dribbling where worked on change of direction. We then did the 2 ball zig zag drill. Coach Mike Glover then took the guys through some stretching, agility, and acceleration exercises. We then did full court layups where they had 3 dribbles to get from one rim to another. We did this with the left and right hand. We then did the two ball reaction drill, where they started in push up position- sprinted to one ball—slided to another—and then speed dribbled both balls back to the baseline. After that we worked on the one leg runner with the left and right hand from all angles and spots on the floor after attacking the defender off the dribble. We also did the same thing with the pull-up jumper. We eneded thed ya with 20 makes from each spot (catch and shoot). After each shot you had to get your own rebound; pass it back to the next man in line then sprint and touch the opposite baseline in time to receive the pass and knock it down.
Workout Analysis: Young was knocking down the jumper with consistency today. Looks a lot more confident when the ball is leaving his hands. Santee is a knock down stand still shooter, and he is improving on his off the dribble pull-up. Johnson has good range and is making himself a better player by working with the older guys.

Rashad Woods (NBA League)
We started off with ball control drills where he had to keep the ball alive with his fingertips. We then did the control speed dribble with the tennis ball where he had to sprint and catch the tennis ball after one bounce while maintaining his dribble with the basketball. We did this with the left and right hand. We then did conditioning where he had to make 5 lay-ups sprinting from baseline to baseline and catching a baseball pass on the run and finish the lay-up. We then did full court pull-ups from elbow to elbow on both sides of the floor. We then worked on sprinting on the wing (running wide and filling the lane) then coming off the screen to knock down the jumper. We then worked on handling the ball against pressure and attacking the pick and roll to the middle of the floor. We ended with NBA 3’s. He had to make 3 in a row 5 times in 7 different spots from beyond NBA range.
Workout Analysis: Woods worked extremely hard today. The full court drills were especially grueling but he kept pushing through. I really want him to come in training camp already in shape. A lot of guys come to camp to get in shape. The way you get ahead is to be ahead of the curve. Woods has the tools of pro when you consider his focus, work ethic, and approach to the game.

Rashad Woods (NBA D League)
We worked on all off the dribble drive moves getting to the mid range area and pulling up. We also worked on counter moves after the defense has cut you off and floaters with the left and right hand after splitting 2 defenders. Woods is gearing up for training camp that starts on Nov 15. With Woods I am working on fine tunign his ball handling skills and mid range J.

Clyde Santee (6'6 f Yates 2012), Damyean Dotson (6'4 g Yates 2012), Stephen Onsuji (pg 2014 River Oaks Baptist), Brandon Thompson (6'3 Worthing g 2011)
Workout Analysis: Santee is expected to make an impact this year at Yates. He can really stroke the ball when his feet are set beyond the 3 point line. We worked on all of the dribble shots making explosive moves which is will propel him to the next level as a player. Damyean Dotson will have to play JV at Yates after transferring from Madison. He is long and can defend multiple positions. Focusing on strengthing that left hand off the dribble and using it in the paint (floaters, layups) and becoming a cosnistent shooter off the dribble with Dotson. The two will be a nice pair in the 2010 season for Yates. With Thompson I am focusing on his footwork. He has a smooth outside stroke, nut we are in the midst of developing his footwork out of the triple threat and when making move sin the paint( hop step, Euro step, etc.) Onsuji is a young pg coming off an injury that occured while playing football. He will have to work his way back into basketball shape. He should be the leader for his 8th grade team this year.

William Young (5'10 pg St. John's 2010)
We started off working on floaters from every angle and spot on the floor with the left and right hand after making an explosive move beyond the 3 point line. We then worked on beating your man making two escape dribbles and pulling up on a dime. We also did this from every angle and spot on the floor going left and right. We then did the concetration drill where he had to make 3 in a row before moving to the next spot. We ended the day with 100 makes (catch and shoot) moving from 5 different areas on the court.
Workout Analysis: Young's weakness has always been his inconsistent jump shot. We are working hard to chance that. He has all the inatngibles and toughness that you want in a point guard. We are starting by utilizing the floater. William has the craftiness and ballhandling skill to beat most defenders and the floater is a tool he must have once he beats that 1st line of defense. We are also concetrating on his midrange game off the dribble. He can really elevate his game if he makes these shots consistently. His jumper looks much improved!

Rashad Woods (NBA D League), Christian Crockett (6'5 f Travis HS 2010), Kevin Williams (6'0 pg Pearland HS 2010), Drew Bastion (6'0 pg Memorial 2010)
Workout Analysis: Kevin Williams made himself a better player today. He pushed through every drill and competed when he was tired. He showed theability to use his strength to guard the ball and keep his man from getting to the basket. Drew Bastion made some tough jumpers. He has to learn how to play quick, but not in a hurry. When he took his time and was on balance his jumper was good; when he rushed and was off balance it was off. Christian Crockett is an intriguing prospect. At 6'5 with a good body and being left handed he is a mtchup problem becuase he isnt a true forward or guard. He loves the pull-up at the top of the key and he did a good job of recognizing when to attack and when to pull-up. Im trying to push him to play at a high level all the time. Woods is rounding himeslf into shape. His mid range game and ball handling have really improved (which is what I have been focusing on w/ him). I look forward to him having a big year this year in the D league.

Rasheed Sulaimon (6'3 Strake Jesuit 2012)
We worked on all shooting drills today. We started with "17", then we did it off the dribble. We then did a shooting drill where you have to concetrate and make shots. He has to make 3 in a row to count as 1, and he had to do this 3 times before moving on to the next spot. If he missed more than 2 in a row he had to go back to the previous spot. We did this from 7 spots (both corners, off the glass on both sides, both elbows, and top of the key). You have to really concetrate and make shots or you will be shooting all day. We then did 10 minute 3 point shooting where he had to slide around the arc for 10 minutes shooting threes. The goal is 100 in 10 minutes. A great shooter will knock down about 90 3's in a 10 minute span. We eneded the day w/ 10 straight makes from the free throw line.
Workout Analysis : I only do the shooting drill (3 in a row counts as 1; cant miss more than 2 in a row) with big time shooters. The reason being if you are an average shooter you will never get thru the drill. The drill is designed to make a really good shooter a great shooter. You can make 8 shots in a row and still have to go back to the previous spot if you miss the next 2. In the 10 minute 3 point shooting drill you have to have a quick release and strong legs to keep making shots when you are tired. In this drill Rasheed knocked down 95 three's in 10 minutes! He could have eclipsed the 100 mark but he went through a cold streak right around 70 makes. I look for Sulaimon to average anywhere in the neighborhood of 20+ this year for Strake Jesuit.

1st session: Rashad Woods (NBA D League)
We worked on a lot of midrange stuff off the dribble. We worked on 1 dribble and 2 dribble pull ups from every spot and angle on the court going left and right. We also worked on the power dribble-hop step avoiding the charge from all angles on the court. We did conditioning while shooting where he had to shoot from a designated spot then defensive slide or backpedal to a certain spot on the court-then sprint back to the same position ready to shoot. We also did conditioning with the weight vest ( rim touches, "and 1" finishes, sprints, and defensives slides and close-outs). We also did 5 min 3 point shooting. Woods made 50 three's in 5 minutes.
Workout Analysis: Training camp starts next month for Woods in Allen, Texas for the Rio Grande Vipers of the NBA D League which is the Houston Rockets affaliate team. There he will team up with another former Houston High School star Stanley Asumnu (Westbury Christian 2001), who played at Tennessee. Woods is really pushing himself in workouts. He has major athleticiscm and size. We are working on his in between game off the dribble and learning how to make effecient moves. If he plays up to his potential he has a chance to get a call up by a NBA squad if the oppurtunity presents itself.
2nd session: Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Anthony Odunsi (6'4 g Travis HS 2011), Brandon Fagan (5'10 pg Fort Bend Austin 2011)
We worked on the 2 ball dribbling (changing speeds and directions). Then we worked on handling the ballagainst pressure with a retreat dribble and crossover. Then we worked on defensive quickness drills where you had to take two big steps sliding cutting your man off then sprinting to a spot once he beats you. We then worked on closeouts forcing a man baseline and cutting off middle penetration. We then worked on different ballhandling moves (between the legs twice, crossover, scissors) then exploding into a 2 dribble pull-up on both side of the floor going left and right. We then worked on the big guard crossover getting to a spot and pulling up going left and right. We also worked on keeping the man on you hip and exploding into a step back jumper. We then worked on beating the first defender the reading the second line of defense and making a quick move into a pull-up. We also did the full court conditioning where you had to make 6 layups in 45 secs sprinting from baseline to baseline. We eneded the day with "17" where they had to score 17 points from 12 different spots on the floor.
Workout Analysis: Odunsi scored 21 points in the "17" drill. All of these guys are good midrange shooters. Fagan must work on his consistency from behind the arc. Outler has to continue to work on his ballhandling in order to be an effective combo in the Big 12. Odunsi has to learn to play with a pace to his game ( switching gears and speeds with the dribble).

1st session: Lante Phillips (6'0 pg Westbury Christian 2010), Brandon Fagan (5'10 pg Fort Bend Austin 2011)
We worked on all point guard drills. We started off with the 2 ball dribble (alternating dribbles) with the retreat dribble/ push dribble/ in and out dribble full court anda speed dribble back down. We the did two ball dribble (alternating dribbles) with resistance all the way down the court and speed dribble back dwon. We then did the tennis ball catch while dribbling (in and out, behind the back twice, scissors, between the legs behind the back, and between the legs behind the back crossover). We then worked on beating the defender getting in the paint, keeping your dribble alive and hitting the man with a pass as he slides into a open shooting gap in the corner. We did this on both sides of the court with the left and right hand. We then worked on beating the man baseline, handling the ball against pressure, pivoting and hitting the open shooter who has slid to the top of the key. We then worked on handling the ball at the top of the key against pressure, dribbling to one wing and hitting the man coming off the screen on the opposite elbow. This drill is all about timing. We then worked on different moves utilizing the floater to the middle and baseline and the 2 dribble pull-up to the middle and baseline.
Workout Analysis: Phiilips will have to make the conversion from 2 guard to point to be able to be a player on the college level. He can really shoot the ball and will have to learn the nuances of running a team. Fagan will be running the show for Austin this year. He must learn how to be more efficent with his dribble. He has a nice handle on the ball, but has to figure out how not to overdribble.
2nd session: Christian Crockett (6'5 Travis HS 2012), Drew Bastion (6'0 pg Memorial 2010), Maurice Wiltz (6'1 g Stafford HS 2010), Elliot (5'8 pg Stafford HS 2011)
We worked on different ballhandling moves to get the defense to raise up, then explode by. We did this with the stutter step scissors, behind the back, behind the back crossover, and the in and out. We then worked on defensive close outs forcing the man to the baseline and cutting off the middle. We did this from both wings and the top of the key. We then did the 2 ball reaction drill where they had sprint to one ball then slide to another; dribble both back; pass one and shoot the other. We then worked on attacking the rim and finishing through the foul by sprinting from corner to corner. We then did 1 on 1 drills. We started by playing off the cross screen, then we played by using the down screen, then we did the free throw 1 on 1 where the man w/ the ball had to dribble to halfcourt and the defender had to sprint to the baseline closeout and play 1 on 1 , and we ended the day with full court 1 on 1.
Workout Analysis: Maurice Wiltz won every single 1 on 1 game. He has really worked on his right hand. Even though he is a righ hander he was a dominant left hand player meaning that majority of thr time he was dribbling strong left. He was blowing by guys and knocking down the pull-up jumper. He is looknig to make a major impact in his freshman year at Colorado State. Drew Bastion made some really tough shots and showed the ability to create separation. Crockett has the tools to be a really good player. At times he settled for the jumper instead of attacking the rim. He is a good midrange shooter, but he must learn not to fall in love with the jumper (especially when you have a smaller defender on you). Elliot is a tough kid who can really put pressure on the ball. He will have to learn how to create space off the dribble and develop confidence in that jump shot.

Clyde Santee (6'6 f Yates 2012), Malcolm Glover (6'1 g Bellaire HS 2012), Jared Hunter ( pg 2014 Hamshire-Fannett Middle School), Jordan Hunter (pg 2015 Hamshire-Fannett Middle School), Dominique Thomas (6'0 g Cy Falls 2010), Drew Bastion 6'0 g Memorial 2010), Christian Crockett (6'5 f Travis HS 2012)
We started off with ballhandling. We worked on the crossover, in and out crossover, between the legs, scissors dribble, pull back, pull back crossover, and between the legs crossover. After the move they had to finish with a runner in the lane with the left hand. We then worked different moves exploding to the middle and baseline on both sides of the floor using the left and right hand utilizing the floater and pull-up. We then worked on different moves after coming off a screen with the reverse pivot on the wing. We worked on the jab middle 2 dribble pull-up to the baseline, jab baseline 2 dribble pull-up to the middle, sweep through to the baseline and middle, and sweep through to the baseline crossover into a pull-up. We then did 5 sec layups where they had to sprin from one baseline to the opposite and lay it in in 5 seconds. We then went into 2 on 2 full court "cutthroat"
Workout Analysis: Jared and Jordan Hunter got a chance to compete with older guys which was a good test for them considering the fact that they are 2014 and 2015 guys. Dominique Thomas is one of the most athletic players in the area. He skied for a block in the 2 on 2 games. He has to work on his ball skills, but his athleticiscm and toughness should earn him a scholarship. Santee has a craftiness about his game and the 2 on2 was goof for him to work on finishing in the open court. Crockett has the size and athletic ability to be a major factor for Travis this year. Glover showed his ability to break guys down off the dribble and make plays.

Jason Carter (6'8 Christian Life 2010). Clyde Santee (6'6 Yates HS 2012), Clement Anozie (St. Thomas 2013)
We started off with footwork and conditioning drills with the weight vest. We did close stutter steps, long strides and backpedals full court to get loose. We then did quick jumps laterally into a sweep through dribble going left and right. We the did 3 quick jumps into a power layup going thru the foul. We did this from both wings and the middle. We then did defensive slide on the box and lateral box jumps going left and right. We then defensive close outs forcign the man baseline and cutting ogg middle penetration. We then did the 4 spot drill where they had to sprint to half court close out then slide to a designated cone, and then repeat the drill until they touch all 4 cones. We then did rebound jumps where they had to sky for a rebound then finish. We then did nball handlnig where they ahd to dribble two balls while following me up and down the court changing directions. Then they had to corral a rebound that was ricocheted hard off the backboard and finish. We then worked on a variety of post moves. We worked on the quick spin, quick fadeaway, jump hook --right and left hand, up and under, step through, fake baseline spin middle, fake middle spin baseline, face up jab, face up sweep through, face up sweep through-spin, and face up sweep through spin--up and under. We finished with 150 makes from all 5 spots on the floor. After each shot they had to either run, backpedal, or slide around a designated cone and get back in line ready to shoot.
Workout Analysis: I almost didnt recognize Jason Carter without his signature flat-top hairstyle. College coaches might not recognize him at first glance either. He is in good basketball shape and he was trying to dunk everything in every drill. His jumper also looks very consistent out to the 3 point line. He has the look of mid-high major player right now. Santee has a good skill set and it looks like he might grow a few inches. The lefty has an old school feel about his game and he has a really good stroke out to 3 point land. Really working on making him a more explosive player which will take his game to the next level. Anozie has to also work on becoming more explosive. He has a good release on his jumper and he must continue to work hard to crack that talented roster of 2012 guys at St. Thomas. He has good size and strength for a young guard.

Jarred Woods (6'4 g Fort Bend Baptist Academy 2010)
We started with the 2 ball dribble full court working on the alternating ball control and change of direction. We the did tennis ball drills working w/ the scissors dribble, crossover, behind the back, and between the legs-behind the back. We then worked with the resistance band exploding to the rim from 5 spots on the floor. We then worked with the resistance abdn on exploding to the rim and finsihing in the paint. We then worked on different moves from the wing exploding to the middle for the pull-up and floater and exploding to the baseline for for the pull-up and floater. We did this on both sides of the floor with the left and right hand. We then did the "shooters drill" where you had to make 3 in a row twice from each spot.
Workout Analysis: Woods is a hard worker. He has good size for the 2 guard position and he will be a solid pickup for a low major school looking for a hard nosed slasher who can make plays. He has a solid jumpshot and a good aptitude to want to get better. He will be the catalyst of a solid FBBA squad this year.

Anthony Odunsi (6'4 g Travis HS 2011), Rasheed Sulaimon (6'3 g Strake Jesuit 2012), Jamel Outler (6'3 g Bellaire HS), Anthony Collins (6'0 pg Westbury Christian 2011)
We started off with 2 ball dribbling full court (w/ "walk the dog", in and out, retreat dribble, and push dribble). We then went with the 2ball reaction drill where they started in pushup position. They had to sprint to one ball and then slide to another ball that was rolling simataneously; dribble both ball back down court pass one to the wing and shoot the pull up. We then did the defense to offense drill where they had to ziz zag then sprint to a ball that is rolling out of bounds. Then you had to push the ball back down court make a move and score the basket; defensive slide twice on the baseline come off the curl and shoot the 17 footer, defensive slide twice on the opposite baseline--backdoor cut and finish at the rim. We then did the 2 baskets- 2 stop drill where they had to D'up full court get the stea--finish; D'up again get the ball and score again. We then did 10 layups where they had to convert the "And 1"(the basket + the foul) where they had to sprint to opposite corners then finish. We then did "17" where they had to score 17 points from 12 different spots on the floor. We then ended the workout with spot shooting. I split them up in teams of two. They had to make 3 in a row as a group to count as "1", and they had to make "5" from each spot.
Workout Analysis: Odunsi and Sulaimon won the shooting drill. They were behind and caught fire at the end draining about 13 shots in a row from the corner. Outler and Odunsi completed the 17 pts drill where they had to score 17 points off of 12 shots. Outler scored 19 in the drill. All of these guys are really good midrange shooters. Sulaimon and Outler are known as the longe range 3 ponit threats. If Collins could really develop a consistent 3 point shot he would be unguardable. As evidenced by the "punishment" for the losing the shooting drill when he had to dribble down and back in 11 secs( he did it 9) therent arent many players faster than A.C. with the ball in his hands. Each one of these guys ae top 10 players in their class and their work ethic and competiveness shows why they are at the level that they are on now.

Rasheed Sulaimon (6'3 g Strake Jesuit 2012), Ahmad Ibrahim (6'6g Mountain State Prep 2011), Anthony Odunsi (6'4 g Travis HS 2011)
We started off with the quick dribble reactions w/ the tennis ball. We worked on the crossover, behind the back, in and out, and scissors dribble. We then worked on exploding to the middle from the three point line (one dribble-1step) for the floater and the same thing to the baseline. We did this on both sides of the floor using the right and left hand. We then worked on attacking the middle and baseline for the pull-up on both sides of the floor. We then did 2 ball dribbling with resistance and speed dribble back down the floor We then did 5 spot Star layups--where they had to sprint to 5 different spots on the perimeter and finish at the rim the sprint; touch the opposite baseline and finish at the rim. We then did resistance band work. With the band we worked on attacking the rim from 5 spots around the perimeter. We then worked on finishing at the rim explosively(w/ the band holding you back). We then went back to the star shooting with the catch and shoot midrange(10 makes) 1 dribble pull-up (10 makes) and catch and shoot three's (10 makes).
Workout Analysis: Ahmad Ibrahim showed some explosiveness on the star drill where he dunked the ball on all 5 spots jumping off 2 feet and one leg. Sulaimon looks quicker and more explosive which spells trouble for Strake Jesuit opponents. Odunsi's mid range jumper look on point. All the guys went hard. All three of the guys have a chance to play at the major D1 level.

1st session: Rashad Woods (NBA DLeague)
We started off with full court ball handling against pressure w/ the half spin, full spin, crossover, behind the back, and betwen the legs. We then worked on handling the ball from the point position--hitting the man coming off the down screen--then flaring off a screen for the jumper. We did this going both way with the left and right hand. We then worked on sliding into the open gaps for the catch and shott 3 from the corner and wing. We then focused on making moves out of triple threat. We worked on the long jab-half jab; cross-step, direct jab-spin, and sweep-through. We then worked on catching the pass in transition and pulling up. We then focused on making a play from the wing with pressure and 5 secs on the clock. We did the same from half court (6 sec), three quarters court (7 sec) and full court (7 sec). For conditioning we did 4 sec layups (full court) and 13 sec down and back(speed dribble).
Workout Analysis: Really working with Woods on staying low and explosive. He can really shoot the ball and if he adds the dimension of breaking guys down off the dribble he will be unguardable. He is really pushing himself to become a pro. We worked out for an hour straight w/ one water break!
2nd session: Anthony Odunsi (6'4 g Travis HS 2011); Rashad Woods (NBA D League), Ray Penn (Oklahoma State), Khris Roy (Houston Baptist University)
Thursday, October 8, 2009
1st session: Ahamad Ibrahim, Rashad Woods (NBA D-League)
We did 20 minutes of straight ball handling w/ 2 balls. We did change of direction, 2 ball crossover, 2 ball behind the back, speed dribble, alternating, and one high- one low. We then worked on the sweeping floater across the lane and the floater going baseline with both hands on both sides of the floor. We then wroked on coming off a screen-- dribble pull-up to the baseline, 2 dribble pull-up to the middle, 2 dribble step back up, and the 2 dribble yank back. We the worked on comnig off a curl--up fake reverse pivot--escape dribble--pull-up. We then worked on catching the rock on the move in a fast break situation crossing over to the middle w/ the short pull up at the elbow area. We ended with our 3 minute three point shooting. It is just a basic shooting drill where you are moving around the 3point arc trying to make as many 3balls as you can in 3minutes. After the skills session we went to the hills to get some conditioning. Check out the video below to see Woods in the shooting drill and some of the conditioning on the hills.
Workout Analysis: Ibrahim drained 25 threes in the 3min drill. Woods set the record with 37! Woods starts training camp with the Rio Grande Vipers of the NBA D League at the beginning of November. He was allocated by the Houston Rockets to their affaliate team. He is working hard to hopefully get that call-up at some point in time during the season.

Ahmad Ibrahim; Anthony Odunsi (6'4 g Travis HS 2011)
We started with 2 ball dribbling-alternating, one high-one low, and pound dribble. We then worked with the tennis ball (between the legs cross; behind the back twice, between the legs-behind the back-cross; scissors dribble). We then went full court with the 2 ball dribble (change of direction, behind the back, and stop and go dribble) with the 2 ball sprint back to the opposite baseline. We then worked on breaking the man down at the top of the key and then maing a counter move on the help defense. We then worked on the "Kobe" step and fade, jump stop reverse pivot, jump stop reverse pivot fade, jump stop reverse pivot up and under, "Baron Davis" step back, fake step back, popping up to the wing facing up 2 dribble pull-up to the baseline and middle, 1 dribble hesitation, pull back jumper, and the pick and roll series (coming off the screen with the jumper, "Gary Payton" spin, refsuing the scree w/ the crossover, and coming off the screen and beating the help side defender. We finished the day with "17" where you had to score 17 points from 12 different spots on the floor (3 pointer is worth 3 points, mid range-2 pts, layup 1pt).
Workout Analysis: Ibrahim has been doing 2 a days. We also worked out earlier in the morning. He broke his own record in "17". He hit all 12 shots to get a perfect score of 25! Working w/ Odunsi on understanding the pace of a point guard. You dont always have to be in a rush. Change of speed and tempo is the hardest thing to guard. The workout was really tiring but they preserved through the end.

1st session: Ahmad Ibrahim
We started with off w/ 2 ball dribbling. We did alternating dribbles, rhythm dribbles, and pound dribbles. We then went full court w/ 2 balls change of direction, and behind the back. We then went with the tennis ball catch/ quick dribble with the basketball. We did the "pat-pat" between the legs, between the legs crossover, between the legs behind the back, and right hand and left hand pound dribble. By this time Ahmad could barely feel his forearms and wrists, but Im not in the business of making people feel good, Im trying to make you better! We then worked on the full court crossover, behind the back, retreat dribble, and spin. Once he got to the other end of the court he had to finish with the left hand floater, dribble back to the other end--make an explosive move and counter move on the defense and score. We then did conditioning where he to dribble down and back in 13 seconds and make 10 layups (going through contact) sprinting from corner to corner. We then worked on some post moves which Ibrahim will have to use from time to time when he has a smaller guard on him. We worked on the jump hook, fadeaway, and up and under on both sides of the floor. We then worked on popping out to the wing catching it in reverse pivot 2 dribble pull-up to the middle and jab 2 dribble pull-up going to the baseline. We ended the workout with curl screens making jumper at both elbows. After the basketball skills workout we went to the hills at Fonde Rec. You can view the video below to see the type of work we put in!
2nd session: Ahmad Ibrahim, Anthony Odunsi (6'4 cg Travis HS 2011), Christian Crockett (6'5 f Travis HS 2012)
We started off with the full court layups where you are allowed 3 dribbles to get from the baseline to the opposite basket. This forces the guys to maximize their dribbles and utilize their length to stretch out and score. We then did the same thing with pull up jumpers at the elbows. We then did 2 ball dribbling with resistance and speed dribbling back to the baseline. We then did the 18 seconds, where they were given 18 seconds to go from baseline to baseline dribbling 2 balls. They then had to make 10 layups sprinting from corner to corner scoring through the contact. We then worked on full court ball handling where they had to manuever through small spaces and big gaps (simulating variouls levels of defense). Once they got to the other end of the court they had to finish high with the left hand floater. Coming back down they had to keep the defender on their hip while dribbling w/ the left hand and the make a move on the defender waiting on them past halfcourt and score. We then went with the drill I call "3 stops" where they had to get 3 stops and 3 baskets. It is physically and mentally draining, but this is what it take to become a big time player! We then worked on beating the man off the dribble--getting into the paint keeping the dribble alive--and hitting the open shooter who has slid into the corner from the wing. After that we went into our 1 on 1 games. We started with the guys trying to score off a down screen, then we went with a cross screen, pick and roll, and popping out the wing. Todays workout was physically demanding, but if you say you want to be an elite player this is what you have to do.
Workout Analysis: All of the guys were fatigued but they continued to fight through. I put pressure on all the guys while they were dribbling so they can see the type of intensity they will face at the next level. Going to focus with Crockett on his ball handling and change of direction. He has the athleticism, size, and length to be a really good player. There is not many kids that are more determined than Anthony Odunsi and he takes it personal when he loses or feels like he is being slighted. He is working on becoming a point guard and Im trying to show him the little things that a PG must do. I think after todays workout he realizes that there is a lot of responsibility that comes along with being a lead guard. Ahmad Ibrahim was the MVP of todays workout. He does have an advantage over Odunsi and Crockett considering we have been doing 2-a-days for almost a week and a half. He won every 1-on-1 drill with the exception of 1. He was making deep shots from all over the floor, displayed nice handles, and even a little explosion as he just missed on a couple of dunks over the top. Here is quick glimpse of Ahmad and Odunsi playing 1-on-1 after the workouts.

Stephen Osuji (River Oaks Baptist MS pg 2014), Jared Hunter ( pg 2014 Hamshire-Fannett Middle School), Jordan Hunter (pg 2015 Hamshire-Fannett Middle School)
We started off with 2 ball dribbling exploding through as I was holding their shoulders back for resistance. We then worked on ball handling in the open court. We worked on different moves including the pull back, behind the back pound, in and out crossover, and change of direction. We then worked on defense with the 4 spot slide drill where they had to start in the middle of the free throw lane sprint up to halfcourt, closeout then slide to the # of the cone that I called out. We then worked on helping on the penetration then closing out on your defender on the wing. The hardest drill of the day was the 3 point/ 3 stops drill where they have to cut me off then save the ball from going out of bounds and score it. This drill is all about heart and toughness. In between drills we did various conditioning exercises (30 sec full court layups, down and back sprints w/ the basketball, etc.) After the defensive drills we worked on beating your man, keeping him on your hip and initiating the contact taking the bump and finishing at the rim. We thenw roked ont he same thing but creating the space for a step back jumper. We also did a drill where they had to make a layup w/ contact after sprinting to 5 different spots on the floor.
Workout Analysis: Jordan is really talented. He can handle the ball and has a good feel for the game. He has a knack for scoring and making the right move at the right time. Jared Hunter has a high motor and competitve edge about himself. He isnt the biggest player on the court, but he usually has the biggest heart. Osuji has a good basketball IQ and knows how to use his body to make plays. All of the young guys competed and gave it their all. Most of the drills today were focused on toughness and heart. Seeing who wants it. Mental toughness is just as important as physical ability in basketball.

Ahmad Ibrahim, Christian Crockett (6'6 f Travis HS 2012)
We started off with the full court lay-ups (3 dribbles) right and left hand. We then did ball drops with the 6-pound heavy ball and two ball dribbling (alternating dribbles) while I was holding you back and then you had to speed dribble with two balls back to the opposite baseline. We then did two ball defensive taps where you had to keep two balls from going out of bounds while sliding from box to box. We the did the reaction defensive slide drill. You had to start in pushup position. When I roll the first ball you have to sprint and get it before it rolls out of bounds, then you have slide to another ball that is rolling in the opposite direction and get it before it slides out of bounds. Once you get the two balls you have to dribble both of them back to opposite end of the court, pass one off and shoot the pull-up jumper. We then did the defensive slide drill where they had to slide to designated cones holding the 6-pound heavy ball. We then worked on the “2” step avoiding the charge where they had one dribble up to the elbow and one dribble coming back to the basket and they had to finish avoiding the charge. We then did the same thing but using the crossover or escape dribble to shoot the jumper. We then did the star drill where they had to make 6 dunks after sprinting to different spots on the floor. We then did the star drill where they had to make 10 catch and shoot mid range jumpers. After that we played our 1-on-1 games from 3 different spots on the floor, and the NBA drill where you had to score all of your points in the paint.
Workout Analysis: Crockett is a long athlete with a lot of potential. He is a lefty, which can throw a defender off balance. He is a good athlete and has a nice body. We will have to work on developing his explosiveness off the dribble and creating space with his ball handling. Ibrahim has been working really hard. On the dunk drill he was getting up above the rim and finishing with ease. Really focusing on his conditioning.

1st session: Ahmad Ibrahim
We started off with full court ball handling against pressure changing directions with the big guard spin, half spin, full wheel, protect dribble, and crossover. We then worked w/ the tennis ball catch while dribbling the basketball. We worked on the 1-2 crossover, under dribble, behind the back twice, and between the legs behind the back. We then worked on dribbling the ball against pressure in the half court getting to the middle and reversing with the jab step fade. We did this going left and right to the middle and baseline. We then worked on the reverse spin, and reverse spin fade away. Both of these moves require exquisite footwork but once they are mastered it can really get the defense off balance. In between each drill I made Ahmad do sprints with the ball where he had to speed dribble down and back in 13 seconds. It is a great conditioning and ball handling drill at the same time. We finished with the big guard step through on both side of the floor using both pivots.
2nd session: Ahmad Ibrahim; Arsalan Kazemi (6'8 f Rice University frosh.)
We worked on ball control with the one hand crossover-behind the back (left and right), one hand in and out, one hand wrap behind the back, and between the legs behind the back. After each move we did a crab dribble into the floater, sweeping hook, and big guard step through. We did this on both sides of the floor. After the ball handling we went with "17" where you have to score 17 points from 12 different spots on the floor. Ahmad set the record for workouts with 21 points. After that we went with the star shooting where you had to make 10 shots from all five spots, running to each spot in a star pattern. In the star drill we did catch and shoot, one dribble pull-up going left and right, catch and shoot three, and jab step 3. After making all 10 shots they had to sprint to the opposite baseline and finish at the rim. After the shooting workout they played one on one from the wing and top of the key.
Workout Analysis: Ibrahim showed some sneaky athleticism as he stretched out for a couple of nice dunks in the drills. He has a really nice touch and good ball skills. We are working hard on building his explosiveness. Arsalan is an elite level athlete and showed a surprising touch out to the 3-point line. He chose Rice over schools like Maryland, Seton Hall, Oklahoma State, Missouri, and Nebraska and is expected to be an instant contributor in Conference USA this year. He is the first Iranian to play DIvision 1 basketball in the history of his country!

1st session: Ahmad Ibrahim
We went to Fonde to run the hills. Strapped up Ibrahim with the 10 pound weight vest and we ran sprints up the hill. We then a quick shooting workout where had to make shots from 7 spots on the floor. He had to make 3 in a row to count as 1. He had t do this 3 times before moving on to the next spot.
2nd session: Rashad Woods (Professional), Jamel Outler (2010 Bellaire HS cg), Ahmad Ibrahim
We started with the tennis ball catch while doing the below the knee control dribble with the left and right hand. We then worked on ball handling in the open court and tight spaces while finishing with a pull up. We worked on the in and out crossover, behind the back, crossover, and between the legs. We then worked on beating your man; keeping him on your hip and exploding into a step back jumper to create space. We worked on this from both sides of the floor. We finished up with conditioning while shooting-where you had to make a shot from each spot. After the make you had to chase down a ball on the opposite end of the court; dribble the full length of the court and shoot from the next spot. We made free throws in between each drill.
Workout Analysis: All three of these guys are essentially big guards. That's why we worked on big guard moves like keeping a defender on your hip and creating space. Ibrahim is working his way back into shape. He is long and at 6'6 he should be able to get his shot off on anybody. Woods is full grind mode as he prepares for his professional career. Really working with Outler on his ball handling-staying low and controlling the rock. He gets great elevation on his jumper and developing a tight handle will make him a dangerous player.
Friday, Sept. 25, 2009
The focus with Rashad is ball handling. We started off with full court ball handling working on the crossover, between the legs, big guard spin, and behind the back. We then worked on beating the man to the middle off the dribble getting in the paint and keeping your dribble alive until your teammate slides into an open gap in the corner. We did this drill on both sides of the floor, and then we worked on beating your man baseline keeping the dribble alive until the teammate slides into the open gap in the opposite corner. We then worked on all off the dribble moves: Steve Francis pull back (going left and right), pull back-crossover, 2 dribble pull-up, crossover step back, between the legs twice, between the legs behind the back, between the legs-behind the back-crossover, etc, etc, etc, Woods was dead tired by this point which was the perfect time to make shots. He had to make 10 from each spot off the dribble. After each spot he had to run a down and back sprint, 8 back pedals, or 15 sprint-ups to the free-throw line-back pedal to the baseline. We alternated what running drill he did in between spots. Woods fought through each drill and gave it everything he had.
Workout/ Player Analysis: Rashad has been working out with the Houston Rockets the past two weeks. He has played extremely well and the organization really likes him. He played well against their 2009 draft picks Chase Budinger and Jermaine Taylor in workouts and pick-up games. Training camps started this week and he will most likely be allocated to their D-League Affiliate (Rio Grande Vipers). With his shooting ability and athleticiscm he has a real chance to make some noise this season in the D-League and hopefully get a call up.

Maurice Ellis (6'8 Cy Springs f 2012)
Sarted off with some footwork drills for Maurice. That will be the key in his development is footwork and body control. We did 2 feet lateral right into a defensive slide, and two feet forward right into a sprint. We then did (3) two foot hops right into a 2 hand finish above the rim w/ contact. We did this on the left and right side of the floor. All of these drills were done with the weight vest. After the footwork drills we worked on rebounding drills were he had to snag a rebound that was thrown high and hard off the backboard, chin it, outlet pass, and sprint down the middle of the floor. We then worked on the form shooting with the jump hook (left and right hand), then drop step no dribble jump hook.We then worked on the up and under on both sides of the floor, and the quick fadeaway over the right shoulder. We then worked on stepping away from the block by meeting the pass- jab step shot, sweep through finish at the other side of the rim, sweep through spin, and sweep through-fake spin-jump hook. We then worked on making those "zone-busters" which is the soft spots in a zone where a big man can get open looks (short corners and high post areas). We eneded the day with 8 sprints and backpedals to get his legs tired then he had to complete 5 dunks after snaring the rebound after I bounced it high in the air. He was extremely fatigued but he continued to fight through.
Workout Analysis: Maurice is a very intriguing prospect. He is long and has a really nice touch. All the moves we did today were focused on him using his length and quickness. He will never be a traditional back to the basket power player, but a player who will be a face up 4man who can knock down the mid range J and "out quick" bigger forwards. Maurice worked really hard today and his upside is very high.

Stephen Osuji (River Oaks Baptist pg 2014), Jordan Hunter (pg 2015 Hamshire-Fannett Middle School), Jesse Anyigbo ( St. Thomas More 2016)
We started off with some footwork drills ( 2 feet laterally) exploding into the dribble full court. We then worked on ball handling with the tennis ball working on ball control, crab dribble, retreat dribble, and push dribble. We then worked on defensive footwork with the 4 spot defensive drill where they had to slide to a specific cone and the 2 ball defensive tap where they slide from box to box keeping the ball from going out of bounds. We then worked on various moves out of triple threat with the direct jab, cross step, and long jab-half jab. Out of triple threat we also worked on the pull back, pull back crossover, and pull back spin. We then worked on the 3-on-0/ 2 on 1 drill and the 1 on2/ 2 on 1 drill. We the played our 1 on 1 games with the "NBA" game, and cutthroat closeout with 3 dribbles. We ended the day with 5 spot shooting where they had to shoot get their rebound, pass to the next man in line and sprint around a designated spot on the other end of the court and get back in line in time to shoot the ball.
Workout Analysis: Jesse Anyigbo, (who is the younger brother of Bellaire star Kene Anyigbo) was the smallest guy in the workout, but he might have the biggest heart. He was constantly being knocked down to floor but he continued to get up and compete. He even managed to win a game in the NBA drill which is all about heart. In this drill its 3 men in the paint and every man for himself--first one to 3 points, no rules except but score the ball. Jordan Hunter (2015 pg )is extremely talented. He can shoot the ball and has a crafty handle. He is also an intense competitor and has that attitude where he hates to lose more than he likes to win. Stephen Osuji has good size and uses it to get to the basket. Hunter and Osuji are currently both in the middle of football season and it shows their dedication to come and get some work in on the court while they are going full blast with football.

Anthony Collins (Westbury Christian 6'0 pg 2011), Tobi Oyedeji (Bellaire 6'9 f 2010)
We worked on the big guard step through, up and under, sweeping floater with the left and right hand, and in and out cross into a floater with both hands. Coming into those shots off the dribble we worked on the change of direction, crossover, pull-back, behind the back, between the legs behind the back combo, and the "Tim Hardaway" crossover. We then worked on the pick and roll---coming off the screen beating the help D with the step back or floater, coming off the screen with the pull-up, refusing the screen with a crossover, refusing the screen with the Gary Payton spin move, and splitting the screen with pull-up or floater. We finished with some conditioning while shooting with the 5 spot star drill where you had to make 10 jumpers and 5 layups from spots all over the floor before sprinting to the opposite baseline and finishing at the rim.
Workout analysis: Tobi is working hard at developing his perimeter skills. He has good form and range out to the college 3 point line and we are working on developing his jumper off the dribble and feel for the game on the wing. His bread and butter for now will be his postwork and that old reliable jump hook and I dont want to diminish that, but we are currently working on his expanding his game. Anthony Collins is one of the hardest workers I have seen on the high school level. He had to stop several times because of cramps and "charlie horses", but he refused to stop the workout. He understands how to get better. He goes 110% in every drill. His mid-range jumper out to 18 feet is really consistent. In the star drill he was knocking down 7 or 8 in a row consistently.

Maurice Ellis (6'8 Cy Springs 2012)
We worked on the explosive box drills going laterally while catching the basketball to develop his footwork and explosivness at the same time. We also did the the defensive slides on the boxes. We then worked on developing soft hands and strong wrists and forearms with the 6 pound ball.( All of this was done with the weight vest) We then did the 2 ball Mikan drill to develop ambidextrious skills and focus on finishing. He has to make 10 in a row with both hands. After the Mikan's we worked on flashing up to the elbow drop stepping to to the outside shoulder and finsihing at the rim with one dribble and one step. We did this at both elbows, then we did the same thing drop stepping to the inside shoulder, and then drop stepping to the outside shoulder and spinning back to the middle with both hands. We then worked on defensive taps, pick and pop, pick and pop with the jab step shot, and pick and pop with the jab 2 dribble spin.
Workout Analysis: Ellis has a lot of potential. He is long and rangy, and built in the mold of a Nick Sheppard at Westbury Christian. He has to really get better with his footwork and body control. He is a good athlete and has a really nice touch out to 18 feet. I want to concetrate on developing his left hand and making quick explosive moves. He definetly has a high ceiling and high major potential with his length, athleticism,, and touch.
Tobi Oyedeji (6'9 f Bellaire HS), Jamel Outler (6'3 cg Bellaire HS)
We worked on pick and roll situations, reading the flex cut screen, box to box screen, and down screen. We then worked on making a hard explosive move just beyond halfcourt on the first defender the making a counter move on the second defender. Some of the counters that we worked on were the 2 dribble pull up going both ways, in and out behind the back pull up, in and out pull-up, behind the back"yank back" dribble pull-up, yank back with the 1 dribble, yank back with the crossover, step back, step back hesitation, and the step back hesitation crossover. We finished with 50 makes on the catch and shoot, one dribble pull-up going left and right, and the 2 dribble pull-up going left and right.
Workout Analysis: Its no coincidence that you see these 2 guys on the workout list all the time, and they happen to be two of the better players in the city. Hard work breeds success. Really working on sharpening up Outler's ball handling. When you play teams like Missouri and Oklahoma State and they start to get up in you defensively you better be strong and solid with that ball. His jump shot and athleticism have never been in question, and the added ball handling (and strength) will make him a complete guard. Tobi is really working on his face up and perimeter game. In the Big 12 the play in the paint is real physical and Texas A&M will have a logjam at the power foward position next year. In order to distinguish himself Tobi will have to provide a face up game, and be a threat from the perimeter. Tobi said he is attacking the workouts with "a business like approach."

Jamel Outler (6'3 cg Bellaire HS), Tobi Oyedeji (6'9 f Bellaire HS)
We worked on some plyometrics and explosive stuff in the weight room. We did defensive slides on the box, lateral jumps, and 2 feet jumps on the 24 inch and 36 inch box. We laos worked on the vertimax doing ankle flips, rebound jumps, burnouts, and explosive jumps. We then worked on a drill where you have to score 17 points on 12 shots from all over the court. We then did a NBA shooting drill where 3 makes in a row counts as 1. You have 2 make 3 from each spot. It took a while for them to get around but it is a simple drill that makes you concetrate on making shots instead of just shooting with no consequences. A lot of times you will hear guys say "I worked out hard. I got up a bunch of shots." That is not a good workout if you were shooting with no concetration or pressure.
Workout Analysis: The Bellaire teammates are gearing up for their senior season and a shot at the state championship as well as a future in the Big 12. They are focused and ready to take their game to the next level. Tobi has been hitting the weights hard all summer long to add strength, and he has a much improved perimeter game while Jamel has been putting in the time on his ball handling and playmaking skills.

1st session: Stephen Osuji (River Oaks Baptist MS pg 2014), Jared Hunter ( pg 2014 Hamshire-Fannett Middle School), Jordan Hunter (pg 2015 Hamshire-Fannett Middle School), Chris Idi (Sartartia MS 2014 pg)
Coach Mike Glover warmed the boys up with some stretching, running, and plyometrics. We started with some defensive close out drills that transition into a curl at the elbow for the 15 footer. We then went with ball handling. We went with the change of direction, crossover, in and out crossover, behind the back, and between the legs behind the back. After they would complete the series of moves they had to explode to the wing make a move on the help defense and finish with the floater. We then worked on stationery dribbling with the behind the back, between the legs, and behind the back crossover exploding into a 1 or 2 dribble pull-up. We then worked on the pick roll game which will be vital to all of these young guards. We worked on setting the defender up then exploding off the screen for the pull-up, refusing the screen with a crossover and splitting the D when the big man shows high. We then worked on reading screens and playing without the ball. We started with the flex cut where they had to read the screen on the baseline and come off it looking to score. They then had to come off a down screen to get open and score. They then had to utilize the pick and roll to get open and score. We finished with our full court 1 on 1 games.
Workout Analysis: Jordan Hunter has a lot of potential. He made a couple of really nice moves and got the defenders off their feet with some hesitation moves. Chris Idi is one of the best young point guards in the city. He hit some tough shots in the pick roll and game and he was causing fits with his ball handling. Osuji has a really good feel for the game. He will become a top player once he becomes more consistent with his jump shot. Jared Hunter had the play of the day when he sprinted full court after missing a layup to block a shot from behind.
2nd session: Jamel Outler (6'3 cg Bellaire HS)
Fresh off the plane from his official visit to Texas Tech, Outler was back in the gym getting after it. We really focused on his ball ahndling and left hand which is his percieved weakness. We started off with stationery dribbling then making a hard counter move on t
Saturday, Febraury 13, 2010
Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2012), Delvin Dickerson (6'5 g Alief Taylor HS 2012), Obi (6'3 g Westside HS 2012)
We started with the weight vest doing quick jumps and explosive finishes at the rim. We then did rim jumps with the 8lb heavy ball, full court push dribble explosive layups with both hands, full court ball handling executing various open court moves, and finishing on the fast break with a pull-up. We also worked on the big guard crossover, pull-back dribble and pull-up, one dribble pull-up from the wing and corner and quick release shooting from all 5 spots beyond the arc. We finished with full court 2 on 2, and halfcourt 2 on 2 with 0 dribbles and 1 dribble.
Workout Analysis: Carter has the look of a high major with his size, athletic ability, and work ethic. He has the body of a big, but can handle and shoot like a wing. Dickerson has a lot of potential. He has great size for a big 2 guard or wing. He is strong enough to absorb contat and finish at the rim. Im going to be working with him on developing advanced dribble drive moves so he can be an inside out player who has the ability to break down people off the dribble and punish smaller defender inside. He has a nice stroke and will get better with continued work. Turk looks like he has improved with his ball handling since he first started coming to the workouts. he has a knack for scoring and Im going to continue to develop his explosiveness off the dribble and his foot speed on defense.
Monday, February 8, 2010
Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010), Devon Turk (6’4 g North Shore HS 2010)
We worked closing out on defense, forcing the man to the baseline, lane slides, full court pressure, recovering and getting back in position after getting beat off the dribble, lateral quick hops, right and left hand floaters, finishing through the contact at the rim, shooting off the flare and curls, mid range jumpers off of creative ball handling moves, and star shooting.
March 9, 2010
Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Devon Turk (6’3 g North Shore Shore HS 2012), Anthony Odunsi (6’4 g Travis HS 2010) We worked on change of pace and hesitation dribble full court, power dribble and explode at the basket, Euro-step floater with both hands coming from the wing and baseline, finishing at the rim through contact, crossover -behind the back pull-up, crossover- under dribble pull-up, 2 dribble pull-up on the break with both hands, and quick release shooting from all spots on the floor. Workout Analysis: Odunsi and Outler are fresh off playoff losses, which shows their dedication to the game that they are already back in the gym. All three of the guys are around the same height. Odunsi is more of the point guard, while Outler is the most athletic, and Turk is the shooter. This will be an important summer for all the guys.Odunsi is in the process of raising his game to a high major level, Turk is trying to solidfy his status as prospect in the area, and Outler is preparing for life at the D1 level at Texas Tech.
March 1, 2010
Ryan Garcia (5’10 pg Jersey Village HS 2012), Jason Carter (6’8 f Christian Life 2010)
We started off with full court ball handling where we worked on the half-wheel-full wheel spin move, crossover, “split” dribble, and big guard spin. We also worked on change of direction into a pull-up, jab step pull-up, “Kobe jab” and Kobe reverse pivot, 2 dribble pull-up, 2 dribble spin pull-up, shot fake-shot,1 leg and 2 leg squats, making a move on the run and finishing, and defensive positioning.
Workout Analysis: Garcia can shoot the ball and will become more of a threat when he becomes more adept at breaking people down off the dribble. He is working hard to become a more explosive athlete. Carter is big time athlete, who is working on his wing skills. He has come a long way with his ball handling and has a nice stroke all the way out to the 3point line. Both of these guys pushed theirselves through some very strenuous drills.
February 28, 2010
Khris Roy (HBU), Jonathon Jordan (5’10 pg Hightower HS 2011)
We got up a lot of shots. We did spot shooting and pick and roll shooting where you had to make 20 from each spot on the floor, and you couldn’t miss more than 2 in a row. If you missed 2 in a row, you had to start all over from 0.
Workout Analysis: This is a concentration drill. I don’t like to do shooting drills where you just have to make a certain number of shots, because there is no consequence for a miss, and it doesn’t build any type of consistency with your jumper. With this drill every shot is a pressure shot, because you don’t want to start all the way over or you could be shooting in the same spot for a long time. Roy is a knock down shooter and advanced through the drill. Jordan is still working on becoming a consistent mid range shooter. He can break people down off the dribble and must be able to knock down the mid range when people go under the screen. Jordan found his stroke halfway through the drill and began to knock down shots.
Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Devon Turk (6’3 g North Shore Shore HS 2012), Anthony Odunsi (6’4 g Travis HS 2010)
We worked on change of pace and hesitation dribble full court, power dribble and explode at the basket, Euro-step floater with both hands coming from the wing and baseline, finishing at the rim through contact, crossover -behind the back pull-up, crossover- under dribble pull-up, 2 dribble pull-up on the break with both hands, and quick release shooting from all spots on the floor.
Jamel Outler (6’3 g Bellaire HS 2010), Kenneth Chapmon (5’8 pg Westbury HS 2011) We worked on extensive ball handling moves in the open court and breaking the man down, 2 dribble pull-ups from all over the floor, athletic finishes at the rim from various angles, jab step pull-ups, baseline shooting, and full court shooting. Workout Analysis: Chapmon is a little sparkplug point guard who is quick and can handle the ball. He has to make the jumper more consistent to keep the defenses honest. Outler gets good elevation on his jumper and has to continue working on his ball handling in order to create space to get to that jumper.
Workout Analysis: Tommy is rounding into better shape. Once his conditioning is top level he will be hard to deal with at any level.
Tobi Oyedeji (6‘8 Bellaire Hs 2010),Christian Crockett (6’5 f Travis HS 2012) \ Teris Bourgeois(6‘5 g clear springs)
We worked on quick dribble drive moves, change of direction moves in the open court, avoiding the charge and exploding at the rim, cross step-sweep through jumper, up fake-rip through jumper, baseline to baseline 2 dribble pull-up, reverese pivot sweep through and finish at the rim, and full court shooting.
Anthony Norris (6'7 g Sam Houston 2011), Joseph Munoz (6'3 g Cy Creek 2012), Laurynce Andrus (6'2 g Pershing HS 2015)
Workout Analysis: Norris became the second player to ever hit all 25 points in the “17” drill. Its that type of potential that scouts rave about when they see Norris. He has the size, length, and athletic ability to play at the highest level. Ball handling, defending quicker guards, and breaking people down off the dribble is what he has to continue to work on, as well as being consistent. Munoz can stroke the ball and looks like he is due to add a few inches to his 6’3 frame. Really concentrating with him on making explosive moves off the dribble and getting to a spot for the pull-up. Andrus is going to be a big time player if he continues to develop.
Workout Analysis: Tommy is rounding into better shape. Once his conditioning is top level he will be hard to deal with at any level.

Tommy Mason-Griffin (Pro), Mike Randle, Thomas Holmes (Overseas)
Anthony Norris (6'6 g 2011), Dante Bachus (6'8 f 2011), Joseph Munoz (6'3 g Cy-Creek 2012)
Anthony Norris (6'6 g 2011), Dante Bachus (6'8 f 2011), Joseph Munoz (6'3 g Cy-Creek 2012)
Sheldon McClellan (6’6 g Bellaire HS 2011), Jason Carter (6’8 f Alabama fresh), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g 2011), Tommy Mason-Griffin (NBA), Mike Randle (6’0 g), Jonathon Jordan (5’10 g Hightower 2011), William Young (5’10 g Arizona State fresh) We worked on full court pull-up jumper, sweep through jumper going left and right, 1 dribble pull-up, catch and shoot NBA range 3, elbow and 17 ft pull-up from the top of the key off the dribble, counter move pull up, and isolation 1 on 1 (2 dribbles allowed). Workout Analysis: Ibrahim was knocking down a umber of tough contested threes. He has a knack for getting his shot off with his length. Carter was able to use his size and strength to win 2 of the one-on-one isolation games. William Young is headed to Arizona State as a preferred walk-on. Jordan was able to blow by people and elevate. He will have to work on finishing to raise his game to another level. Mason-Griffin has a couple of more NBA workouts lined up and the draft approaches. His ability to create should land him on a roster somewhere next year

Eric Moreland (6’10 Oregon State fresh), Afam Nweke (6’6 f Louisiana-Monroe 2010)
We worked on full court change of direction with the crossover, pull-back, between the legs, and behind the back, explosive leaping, backboard and rebound touches/jumps, 1 dribble pull-up from both wings going left and right, sweep through baseline, and runners.
Workout Analysis: Moreland tried to complete the NBA dunk drill (25 drop step dunks in a row) He made 15 in a row before missing, but he eventually finished the drill.
Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g 2011), William Abdul-Malak (6’0 g 2011)
We worked on full court conditioning with timed suicide dribbling drills, tight space ball handling, counter moves, athletic finishes at the rim, scoring through contact, transition pull-ups, feeding the post with pressure, and spot shooting.
Workout Analysis: Ibrahim is working hard. He might be representing his country (Lebanon) this summer in the World championships in Turkey along with the likes of USA (Kobe, Durant, etc)
Alex Lap (5’8 g Kempner HS 2013)
We worked on jab step jumper, catch and shoot, jab step-up fake-blow by, mid range, deep three ball, 2 dribble pull-ups going left and right, and 1 dribble pull-up after the hard jab going left and right.
Workout Analysis: We got a lot of shots today. The goal was to make her be able to make shots while she is tried and fatigued. That’s when you become a big time player when you can explode and make plays at the end of a game.
Thursday, June 3, 2010 Anthony Norris (6’6 g 2011 Sam Houston HS), Dante Bachus (6’7 f 2011 Sam Houston HS), Joseph Munoz (6’3 g Cy Creek HS 2012) We worked on breaking people down off the dribble with various dribble drive moves (kobe jab, yank back, double crossover, between the legs behind the back, 1 and 2 dribble pull-ups, etc), tennis ball reaction with the scissors dribble and crossover, transistion pullups, and full court shooting. Workout Analysis: Bachus is an intriguing prospect. He has the length and athletic ability to be a D1 player. He also has a nice touch. He will have to work on his footwork and ball handling to become a next level guy. Norris is blessed with all the athletic and physical gifts. He will have to become adept at breaking people down off the dribble in order to raise his game to another level. Munoz will also have to continue to improve his dribble drive game. He can knock down the 3 ball and it will open up his whole offensive repertoire when he starts breaking guys down off the bounce. Eric Moreland (6’10 Oregon State fresh), Mike Randle (6’0 g), Ahmad Ibrahim (6’6 g 2011) Today was a shooting workout. We did catch and shoot and off the dribble from 3 and mid range all ove rthe floor.
