The "Best of Class" is organized by the graduating year of the athlete

                      Best of 2010

 

  • Best Shooter: Jacob Horton (Clear Lake)--Has drained more than (10) threes in a game
  • Best Defender: Jordan Clark (Bush)--Long armed swingman has athletic ability to guard on the perimeter and intrerior
  • Best Athlete: Brandon Peters (Yates)--"Snap" strikes fear in opponents with his leaping ability
  • Pro Potential: Toby Oyedeji (Bellaire) --Good footwork and hands, excellent post moves, great timing on defense, and developing periemter threat                                     
  • Underrated: Tevin Svihovec (Kingwood)--Quietly gets its done by attacking the rim or dropping longe range bombs
  • Best Big: Tobi Oyedeji (Bellaire)-- #1 player in the area
  • Best Wing: Mykail Mclain (Second Baptist) --At 6'7 he is a matchup nightmare
  • Best 2 Guard: Brandon Peters (Yates)--Developing jumper and handle( which is downright scary)
  • Best Point Guard: Darius Gardner (Yates)--Whether its State championships, AAU, or streetball all "Pee-Wee" does is win

Best of 2011

Petteway is the best wing in the 2011 class

  • Best Shooter: Deangelo Harrison (Dulles)--Lights out shooter can get hot in a hurry
  • Best Defender: Anthony Collins (Westbury Christian)-- Quick foot defender locked down the nations #1 player last year (AVery Bradley)
  • Best Athlete: Anthony Norris (Sam Houston) -- Long lefty like to play above the rim
  • Pro Potential: Sheldon McClellan (Bellaire) --Has all the tools that pro scouts crave (length, athleticism, and shooting ability)
  • Underrated: Joe Miles (Jones)--Quick pg has a heart bigger than Texas
  • Best Big: Chris Coleman (Christian Life) --Florida International commit is a traditioanl back to the basket post who is seeking contact
  • Best Wing: Terran Petteway (Galveston Ball) --Versatile wing who is a stat sheet stuffer
  • Best 2 Guard: Julien Lewis (Lamarque) --Hard nosed 2 man is as tough as they come
  • Best Point Guard: Anthony Collins (Westbury Christian)--Ultimate floor general and playmaker

Christian Sanders is the best shooter in the 2012 class

  • Best Shooter: Christian Sanders (St. Thomas) --Can knock down shots from the mid range or perimeter off the dribble or catch and shoot
  • Best Defender: Broderick and Roderick Harris (Jones)--Twins not afraid to use contact and also nimble enough to guard on the wing
  • Best Athlete: Wannah Bail (Lutheran North)--When he has a full head of steam somebody is about to get dunked on
  • Pro Potential: Wannah Bail ( Lutheran North)-- 6'8+ ridicolous wingspan+ perimeter skills+ = pro potential
  • Underrated: Clyde Santee (Yates)  When you are a sophmore on a defending state championship squad that returns 5 senior starters its easy for people to forget about you.
  • Best Big: Aaron Durley (St. Thomas) --Big man is a load on the blocks, and he is looking to go thru you to score his points
  • Best Wing: Trey Guidry (St. Pius) --Athletic wing uses his body well on slashes to the basket
  • Best 2 Guard: Rasheed Sulaimon (Strake Jesuit) --"Sheed" is one of the deadliest scorers in the country
  • Best Point Guard: Tie-J'Mychal Reese (Bryan) and LJ Rose (Second Baptist) --Pick your poision--Smooth scorer who can drop 30 on any given day(Reese) or a big point guard who knocks down open shots and gets his teammates involved (Rose)
